Crossroads
Not exactly a Valentine although...

‘Was that some sort of punishment Aesop?’ Fig asked suddenly.
‘Do you genuinely believe me capable of torturing someone just to spite you?’
‘It didn’t have to be that gruesome, did it?’
They arrived near the main gate and Sharp stopped, waiting for Fig to face him.
‘I have no consideration for those willing to harm innocent lives, no matter the reason,’ he said with a soft but stern voice. ‘If you want to break the rules, so be it, but you’ll have to face the consequences as well. Should your actions bring me face to face with such an individual, and should they choose to withhold information, I am fully prepared to employ the most effective techniques I possess to extract it.’
‘Plans, interrogation, individual, techniques to extract information,’ Fig listed with a frown. ‘You sound just like an Auror.’
Sharp made a step forward.
‘I never stopped being an Auror, Eleazar,’ he said with a light growl. ‘And I still would be one if it hadn’t been for my partner’s death.’
They were so close to each other that a mere inclination of their head would cause their lips to graze against each other. But this was the very last thing in both their minds. If anyone had caught them in this very moment, they could have thought they were about to fight.
And they wouldn’t have been that far from the truth.
‘So, it wasn’t punishment,’ Fig eventually growled, ‘but merely following procedure?’
‘Procedure, rules, method, something that wouldn’t hurt you to apply!’ Sharp shot back.
Fig's gaze turned glacial, and it felt like the already cold temperature had plummeted several degrees. His reply was even colder.
‘No thank you.’
Whatever emotions passed through Sharp’s gaze was immediately consumed by the smouldering embers that had replaced his eyes.
‘Then I believe we’re done,’ he replied with a rumbling voice.

I am in LOVE with your street racer Sukuna!!! It's so good I wanna cry
I dunno if you take requests but I'd love to see how he'd react to someone hitting on you in front of him (or someone hitting on HIM in front of you)
Hi anon thank you for gooning over street racer! sukuna with me <3 mwah mwah MWAHHHHH here is a snippet from a fic i wrote that's similar to ur req 😚😝
someone hitting on you in front of street racer! sukuna
You expected champagne. Maybe even a full-on victory lap with Sukuna—him pulling you into his arms, wild with adrenaline and pride. You pictured the whole thing: arms around your waist, a cocky grin, the taste of sweat and sweetness when he kissed you in front of everyone like you were his prize.
Instead, second place earns a clenched jaw and dead silence on the ride to the restaurant.
Everyone else is buzzing—his team practically bouncing on their heels, thrilled he even placed at all. “Second in your debut? That’s crazy,” you hear someone say, followed by a solid clap to Sukuna’s back. It doesn’t shake the mood off. If anything, he just gets quieter, retreating further into his own storm cloud.
He slides his sunglasses on as he takes the wheel of the sleek black Porsche Cayman he refused to let anyone else drive. His hands grip the leather like it’s got something to answer for.
You peek at him from the passenger seat. “You were amazing out there.”
“Didn’t win.”
“It was your first pro race.”
“I don’t race to be almost the best.”
You sigh. He’s impossible when he gets like this—stubborn, coiled, biting at the edges of his own ambition. But under the frustration is something else. Something raw. So you reach across the console, slipping your fingers between his.
He doesn’t say anything, but he laces them tighter.
That alone makes you smile.
The restaurant is warm and buzzing—low lights, exposed brick, loud conversation rolling off the walls. You slip into the seat beside him at the long table, and he stays pressed close, his thigh brushing yours, hand resting just barely on your knee beneath the table.
He hasn’t touched his food. Keeps nursing a drink like it’s the only thing keeping him grounded.
“You looked so good out there,” you murmur again, leaning close enough that only he can hear.
Finally, he glances your way. Just for a second. But it’s different this time. Softer.
“You looked better,” he says, and you see the corner of his mouth twitch—half a smirk, almost a smile.
You nudge his knee under the table. “You know, I almost ran onto the track.”
That earns a full smile. “Yeah?”
“Wanted to kiss you through your helmet.”
He chuckles. Then bumps his shoulder against yours. “Next time.”
You’re mid-laugh when a voice cuts in.
“Didn’t expect to see someone like you here.”
You blink up at the guy—button-down shirt, expensive shoes, that unmistakable air of confidence that doesn’t quite reach the eyes. He isn’t part of the crew. Doesn’t even have a lanyard. You’re already annoyed.
“I’m with the team,” you say politely.
“With the team,” he echoes, amused. “That include him?” He nods toward Sukuna without making eye contact.
You straighten. “Yeah.”
There’s a beat where the guy just smirks, oblivious or stupid. Probably both. “Honestly, are you here for the cars, or a boyfriend?”
You shoot him a tight smile. “I’m only here for one person.”
“Damn,” he says. “Wish I was him.”
You don’t get the chance to reply.
Sukuna stands.
The chair scrapes against the floor and the whole table quiets. Conversation dies as six-foot-something of fury plants himself squarely between you and the guy, casting a long shadow across the floor. His expression is calm—but in that wrong way. Like the calm right before lightning splits the sky.
“You got three seconds to walk away,” Sukuna says. Voice low. Controlled. “Before I stop playing nice for sponsors.”
The guy stammers out something—hands raised, steps back. You don’t even hear what he says. Just the sound of retreat.
Sukuna doesn’t chase. Doesn’t puff his chest. Just turns back to you, jaw tense, eyes scanning your face for anything off. His hand finds your thigh again under the table—firmer this time, anchoring.
“You good?”
“I’m fine,” you murmur. “Are you?”
He doesn’t answer right away. His thumb starts rubbing slow circles against your bare skin. You can tell he’s still stewing. Still not letting it go.
“I was already pissed about second,” he mutters. “Didn’t need some idiot acting like you’re—” He swallows. “Like you’re not mine.”
You reach for his hand under the table and link your fingers again. This time you lift them to your lap, keeping him close. Warm. Real.
“I never am,” you say. “Not to anyone else.”

The ghost I left behind- III

Pairing: Robert 'Bob' Reynolds x reader
Summary: Y/N and Bob had a life before he disappear, full of love, hope, and a lot of chaos, but they managed each other, she was the only one who truly could make him avoid the void inside his mind. How could he turn his only light into a shadow in his mind ?
Note: I kinda wanted to make this more of a filler chapter, because I didn't want to write the whole movie when it doesn't really make sense for this idea, I promise you a more fullfilling chapter next, and the emotions and action will be there!
Word count: 6.3k
Chapter II, IV
--
O.X.E Research Lab. - Malaysia
The hum of fluorescent lights was constant — like static pressed against Bob’s skull. The air was cold, colder than it should’ve been for a place buried under the jungle. Concrete walls closed in around him like a tomb.
He sat alone on the cot in the corner of his cell — no, not a cell, they called it a room. White-walled, sterile, like something out of a hospital, only there was no comfort here. Just observation windows and cameras that never blinked. On the wall across from him, a single metal shelf held the only thing they’d let him keep — a small, worn photograph of Y/N, curled slightly at the corners. She was smiling in the picture, standing barefoot in their kitchen, holding a mug of coffee. Her hair was messy, her eyes tired but warm.
Bob stared at that picture like it was oxygen.
He hadn’t seen her in months. He hadn’t heard her voice, hadn’t felt her hand on his back when the nightmares got bad. But he remembered everything — the sound of her laugh when she teased him about the chicken suit, the way she’d breathe when she fell asleep next to him. The feel of her lips against his shoulder. The way she’d told him she was pregnant — shaking, terrified, and hopeful all at once.
He remembered what he’d said to her that night.
“I’ll get clean. I’ll be better. I want to be the kind of man our kid looks up to.”
And then he left.
He hadn’t told her. Hadn’t said goodbye. He boarded a plane with a one-way ticket and a pocket full of cash he’d scraped together, believing that leaving would present her with a greater good. They promised change. Power. Control. All the things he’d never had. All the things he thought he needed to deserve her.
And now?
Now the power was eating him alive.
The door to the room opened with a hiss. Two armed guards stepped aside as Dr. Lenhart entered, clipboard in hand, eyes cold behind her glasses.
“Subject 44. The team is ready.”
Bob didn’t look at her. His fingers grazed the edge of the photograph once more before standing. He didn’t resist as the guards strapped a control collar around his neck and led him down the corridor.
The room he entered was massive. Sterile. Circular. Glass walls separated the observation deck from the inner chamber. Bob stood in the center, machines humming to life around him, sensors pulsing against his skin.
“Begin neurological synchronization,” a voice echoed overhead.
Bob closed his eyes.
At first, there was silence.
Then came the whispering.
Not in words — not exactly — but in feelings. Rage. Hunger. Emptiness.
He clenched his fists, his breath growing erratic. The air around him shimmered, warped. Lights above flickered, then dimmed to nothing. A black mist seeped from beneath his feet like smoke rising in reverse.
“Restrain output—he’s losing control!” came a panicked voice behind the glass.
But it was too late.
The shadow lashed out like lightning — instinctive, desperate, alive. It slammed against the walls, shrieking with a sound that wasn’t made by any throat. Two technicians in hazmat suits tried to flee, but the black tendrils struck faster than thought. One hit the floor, his body shriveling in seconds. The other screamed — then there was only silence.
And in the middle of it all stood Bob, hovering inches above the ground, his eyes pitch-black, veins glowing faint blue beneath his skin.
Then — darkness.
Bob woke up on the floor, shivering.
He wasn’t sure how much time had passed. Minutes? Hours?
He pulled himself to his knees, the collar around his neck heavy like guilt. His head pounded, his limbs ached, but worse was the silence in his mind — not peace, but absence. Like something had used him, then left.
He looked up and saw the bloodstains. The security footage, replaying silently through the tinted glass window. Two lives lost. His hands.
“No,” he whispered, scrambling back, pressing his back to the wall.
His breath hitched as he fumbled for the shelf — for the photo.
There she was.
Still smiling. Still beautiful.
Still waiting.
“I didn’t mean to…” His voice cracked. “I didn’t want this. I didn’t want this, Y/N. I just wanted to be enough.”
He buried his face in his hands, shaking.
“I miss you,” he whispered into the silence.
A sob broke loose. He clutched the photo against his chest like it could stitch his soul back together.
“I’m trying to fix this. I swear I’m trying. I just… I thought that I would be dead by now.”
No answer. Only the sound of the distant hum of machines and the slow drip of water somewhere in the corner of the room.
He leaned his head back against the cold wall, eyes glassy, voice no louder than a prayer.
“Please… wait for me.”
--
2 months after
The corridor had no way out, and the new team was looking for an exit, Bob just stays put.
“Bob,” Yelena snaps over her shoulder, pausing. “You’re falling behind.”
He doesn’t answer. His eyes are hollow, shoulders hunched under the weight of guilt and grief. The ground beneath them trembles—security drones are drawing near.
“I'll stay” he finally says, voice like crushed gravel. “I’ll just slow you down. It's better for everyone if a just...stay put.”
Yelena walks back toward him. “No, Bob, if you stay you will die.”
“Well it's...whatever” he breathes out. His jaw is tight, his fists clenched. “I don't deserve people saving me, I'm just being a burden to you guys, it's ok, go.”
Yelena’s expression softens, barely perceptible beneath her hardened demeanor. She steps closer.
“Hey, hey, wow, ok, I get it, we all have a void inside of us, we all feel like shit, and alone, but don't let that consume you, you are someone. You just have to control it.”
Bob doesn’t answer. His jaw trembles.
“What do you do to control it?”
Yelena gives him a small smile. "You push it down, like down, you push it."
Walker turns, a huge hole he punched in the wall. “Hey! If the therapy session is over, we have to go.”
She walks ahead without waiting for a response.
He starts walking behind her.
--
Back in New York
Across from her, Mr. Cooper grunted as he settled onto the floor with a sigh of relief, one leg stretched out, the other bent to cradle his back.
Sunlight poured through the open windows, warming the small apartment with its soft, golden glow. The living room was a mess of wooden planks, screws, and folded instructions spread across the floor like a chaotic puzzle. In the center of it all, Y/N sat cross-legged, squinting at the manual with a furrowed brow and a pencil tucked behind her ear, like that somehow made her more capable of interpreting the impossible hieroglyphs IKEA had decided passed for “assembly instructions.”
“I think I pulled something just by looking at that Allen wrench,” he muttered, rubbing his hip.
Y/N giggled softly, setting down the manual. Her belly, now visibly showing as she reached five months, shifted with the movement, and she instinctively rested her hand on it. “We’re not even halfway done. Are you telling me you’re tapping out already?”
“I’m old, sweetheart,” he said with a gruff smile. “I tap out every time the weather drops below seventy.”
She shook her head with a grin and leaned over to pick up a wooden side panel of the crib. It was pale honey-colored oak, sanded smooth, gentle with age. It had once belonged to Cooper’s granddaughter, and now it would belong to her baby.
“You really didn’t have to give me this,” she said, her voice softening.
“Yes, I did,” he replied without missing a beat. “No child deserves to sleep in one of those plastic nightmares. And no mother should go through this alone.”
That word — mother — still settled strangely on her shoulders. Like a coat she was trying on, not quite fitted yet.
She glanced at him, her smile more subdued now, thoughtful. “Thank you.”
He waved it off, leaning back against the wall. “Enough of that. Tell me how the new job’s going. Still wrangling tiny lunatics all day?”
Y/N laughed, genuinely this time, the sound echoing off the walls of the small room. “Yeah. It’s chaos, but kind of... perfect chaos. I mostly work with toddlers. I feed them, change them, read stories. Try to keep them from painting on the walls or eating glue. It’s exhausting sometimes, but... I really love it.”
Cooper watched her closely as she spoke, the weariness on her face dulled slightly by something new—something lighter. Peace, maybe. Or the distant shape of it.
She picked up a small wooden bar and held it like a sword. “Today one of them tried to put mashed peas in my shoes. Another fell asleep on my lap mid-story and started snoring like a little old man. And during snack time, this one girl kept hugging my belly like she knew. Like she knew, you know?”
Her voice softened. “And every day I’m there, I realize more and more... I want this. I want to do all those things with my baby. The feeding, the stories, the naps. I want to see them take their first steps. Hear their first words. I don’t want to miss that.”
She paused, tears stinging lightly at the corners of her eyes, but she blinked them away before they could fall. “I stopped looking for couples. I think I knew deep down I couldn’t go through with it. I was just scared... not of the baby. Of doing it alone.”
Mr. Cooper didn’t speak right away. He reached over and gently patted her hand. His weathered fingers were rough but warm.
“You’ve been through hell and back, Y/N. And you’re still here. That baby’s lucky already.”
She gave a teary smile. “Sometimes I still hope he’ll come back. That Bobby will just... walk through the door one day, stupid grin on his face like nothing happened.”
“That kind of love,” Cooper said, after a long moment, “is the kind people go their whole lives never finding. But love’s only half the battle. Raising a child, choosing to stay... thats the rest. That’s the hard part.”
Y/N nodded, looking down at the crib pieces. Her fingers grazed over the smooth wood, the future taking shape beneath her hands. She felt a soft flutter inside her, the baby moving, stretching gently like they knew she was talking about them.
“I just want to give them a better start,” she whispered. “Better than what I had.”
“You already are,” Cooper said.
They sat in quiet for a while, sunlight casting long shadows on the floor. The crib still unfinished, the future still uncertain—but for the first time in a long while, the air felt different.
A thought crossed her mind. "You think he's okay Mr. Cooper?"
He looked at her, a sad smile in his face, "I hope so sweetheart, I really do."
--
Bob was indeed not okay
The room was colder than he remembered.
There were no windows. No clocks. No reflections. Only the hum of warm orange lights above. He was laying on a bed, rather confortable if he's allowed to say.
The door creaked open, slow and theatrical, and in walked Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, a ghost in high heels and silk. She didn't sit immediately. She liked to hover, to stalk, her movements measured and deliberate.
“Hi Bob! How are you? <Are you confortable?” she said casually, as if they were old friends catching up over coffee.
Bob didn’t answer. His jaw tightened, but he kept his eyes on the floor. The room felt like a trap, but he was too tired to pretend he wasn’t already caught.
“I imagine you’re wondering why you’re still alive,” she continued, circling him. “I thought you were another failure, turns out here you are.”
His breath hitched. “Where am I?”
“Home, for now” she said sweetly.
She finally took the seat across from him, folding her arms on the table like a therapist in disguise.
“You’re a miracle, Bob. My miracle. A walking success story. Do you know how many billions were poured into the O.X.E. Project before we got it right? You’re the first. You’re what we’ve been trying to make for years. You’re the product of patience. Genius. Sacrifice.”
“Don’t,” he muttered.
Valentina’s voice sharpened. “I’m not here to coddle you. I’m here to offer you purpose.”
“You signed up for a medical study, which was, as advertised, at the cutting edge of human improvement. But not everybody could handle the amount of greatness that we had in mind—”
His gaze flickered up to her, hazy and wet. “You used me.”
“We made you,” she snapped, then caught herself, letting the corners of her mouth twitch back into a smile. “And you’re more than even you realize. You just need someone who believes in you. Someone who knows what you’re capable of.”
Bob swallowed, teeth gritted. “Where's Yelena ?..., they’re good people. They don’t deserve whatever you’re planning.”
Valentina tilted her head. “They’re weapons, Bob. Trained killers. Criminals really. You think they’ll stop if I tell them to go after someone? You think they won’t? That’s the kind of world you’re in. And that’s the kind of world she’s in, too.”
She slid a photograph across the table.
His heart stopped.
It was her.
The same photo he almost forgot he had on his room in the facility he went to for the experiment.
Bob reached for the photo like it might disappear if he blinked. His fingers trembled as they hovered over it, then finally closed around the edge.
“She’s okay,” Valentina said, almost kindly. “Five months now. Still looking for you. Still crying over you. Still believing in you. Kinda of a bummer that she's alone isn't it?”
A tear slipped down Bob’s cheek as he stared at the image. “I never wanted to leave her. I—I thought if I got better, if I could just fix myself, I could come back. I wanted to come back.”
Valentina leaned in, voice low. “You can.”
He looked up at her. "Where is she? How did you find her?"
“I know a lot about you. I know about your mom’s mental illness, I know about your addiction, your fathe. But does that matter? You can come back stronger. Better. As someone who can protect her. Provide for her. Be a real father. A real partner. But you have to work for me, Bob. You have to give me loyalty. Just a little time. Just a few assignments. And then, I promise—on my name—she’s yours again.”
Bob shook his head slowly, horror creeping in. “You’re threatening her.”
“I’m protecting her,” Valentina said calmly. “From you. From the others. From this world that doesn’t care who she is or what she’s been through. You want to keep her safe? You work with me. You do what I say. Because if you don’t... there are people out there who won’t hesitate to use her against you.”
Bob’s hand clenched around the photo, crumpling the edge.
“You don’t understand my love,” he said, voice cracking.
“I don’t have to,” she replied. “But I can use it.”
He looked at her then, really looked. The truth was a blade in his chest. He was powerful, but powerless. Strong enough to rip holes in the sky, but too broken to say no.
“She’ll hate me.” he whispered.
Valentina stood, brushing invisible dust from her lapel. “Maybe. But hate is a lot like love, Bob. It sticks. It burns. It means you still matter.”
She walked to the door, heels clicking.
“I'll be back when you're feeling better, it's your best interest to control yourself and all your powers.”
The door closed behind her with a final click.
And Bob sat there in silence, holding the photo of the only person who ever saw him as more than his darkness.
His fingers trembled as he whispered her name.
“How did I ended up here baby...”
--
Y/N's pov
The lights were dimmed in the small examination room, a soft hum of fluorescent bulbs vibrating overhead. Y/N lay back on the cold, paper-covered chair, the crinkling noise far too loud in the silence. Her shirt was rolled up, exposing the gentle curve of her belly. She was twenty weeks now, and this was her first real appointment.
She hadn't meant to wait this long, but money and despair had a cruel way of making even basic things feel unreachable. If it hadn’t been for Mr. Cooper, gently reminding her, pushing through her deflection, she might’ve kept pushing it off until she gave birth alone.
The doctor entered with a warm smile, her presence calm and kind, a middle-aged woman with soft eyes and a practiced touch.
"Hi, sweetheart. I’m Dr. Hale. Let’s have a look at this little one, okay?"
Y/N nodded, her throat too tight for words. She tucked her hair behind her ear and tried to relax. She hated that her hands trembled.
Dr. Hale squirted the cold gel onto her stomach, and Y/N winced. "Sorry about the chill. It’ll warm up in just a second," the doctor said, already moving the wand across her skin.
The screen flickered to life beside her. Grainy black-and-white shapes slowly came into focus — shifting, fluttering motion, something alive. Her baby.
Y/N stared. She forgot to breathe.
"There we are," Dr. Hale whispered, smiling at the screen. "Look at that heartbeat. Strong little one, isn’t he?"
Y/N blinked. “He?”
"It’s a boy," Dr. Hale said gently. “Congratulations, mama.”
Y/N’s mouth opened but no sound came out. Her eyes welled up fast, tears rising before she had time to prepare for them. Her lips trembled and she brought a hand up to cover her mouth, the other resting gently over her belly.
A boy. She was having a son.
“He’s measuring well, right on time,” the doctor continued, her voice soft, respectful of the emotion clouding the room. “You’ve done a good job, keeping him strong.”
But Y/N was crying now — quiet, broken sobs — as she stared at the screen. Her baby. Bobby’s baby. And she was seeing him for the first time. A little fluttering shape that would one day have Bobby’s eyes. Maybe even his shy smile.
Dr. Hale handed her a tissue. “It’s okay. First appointments can be overwhelming.”
Y/N laughed softly through the tears, nodding. “Yeah. That’s one way to put it.”
“Your partner must be so happy too,” the doctor added casually, glancing at the monitor. “First-time dads are always in awe during these appointments.”
Y/N’s face froze. She didn’t correct her. She just offered a small, practiced smile. “He is. He… just couldn’t be here today. But he..he's really happy.”
Dr. Hale nodded, not pressing. “Well, this little boy is lucky. You clearly love him very much.”
Y/N looked back to the screen, to the blurry shape moving softly on it, and swallowed hard. Her fingers tightened around the paper sheet beneath her.
“He’s everything.” she whispered.
--
The scent of warm fries lingered in the car, mingling with the soft hum of the engine and the quiet tune playing from the radio—something 90s, something nostalgic. Rain tapped gently on the windshield, coating the windows in glistening beads that shimmered under the glow of the streetlight outside the McDonald’s parking lot. The inside of her old sedan was cozy and dim, fogging slightly from their breath and the comfort of shared laughter.
Bob was in the passenger seat, slightly turned toward her, his long legs awkwardly folded into the too-small space. A crumpled paper bag sat between them, half-spilled fries poking out. He held a burger in both hands, but he hadn’t taken a bite in at least a minute—too caught up in the way she was telling her story, animated and full of wild hand gestures, her eyes lit with mischief.
“No, no, wait,” Y/N laughed, nearly choking on her own drink as she swatted his arm. “You have to picture it—this man, right? Full suit. Hair greased back like he’s somebody’s boss. He’s barking at me because his order had pickles when he said no pickles—like it was a personal betrayal. So I’m standing there, biting my tongue, trying not to say ‘Sir, I don’t make the sandwiches, I’m just handing them to you.’”
Bob chuckled, already smiling because he could hear how this story ended. “And then?”
She grinned, pausing for dramatic effect, fries in hand like a microphone.
“He turns too fast, slips on his own spilled soda, and I swear to God, it was like a slow-motion movie scene. Both arms flail, legs go out, and bam—on his ass. The sandwich goes flying. The drink lands on his lap. And everyone just… stares.”
Bob was wheezing, struggling not to spit his drink out. “You’re lying.”
“I swear,” she said, holding up two fingers in mock oath. “The ketchup packet even exploded. Right on his white shirt. Like something out of a damn Tarantino film.”
They both laughed so hard it hurt, leaning toward each other in the cramped space of the car. Bob wiped a tear from his eye and looked at her, still giggling with her hand pressed to her chest, eyes watery from the laughter.
He couldn’t stop looking at her.
He’d never met anyone like her before—someone so unapologetically alive. She wasn’t like the people from his past, people who only spoke in hushed tones and looked at him like he might break. She was loud and kind and brilliant and chaotic in the most mesmerizing way. And somehow, for reasons he still didn’t understand, she liked him.
Y/N caught him staring, mid-fry. She tilted her head. “What?”
Bob blinked, startled. “Nothing. You’re just…”
“What?”
He gave a shy shrug, reaching down for the last fry in the bag. “You’re just…funny.”
“Funny?” she repeated with a smirk. “That’s it?”
“And cool,” he added quickly. “And smart. And, uh—” he hesitated. “Your storytelling is…top-tier.”
Y/N narrowed her eyes playfully and leaned back in her seat. “You’re weird, Bob.”
He smiled at the dashboard, face warming. “Yeah. I get that a lot.”
She nudged his arm with hers, shoulder to shoulder. The warmth of her touch buzzed through him. “Wanna come back to my place?”
His eyes snapped to hers.
“I mean,” she added, lifting an eyebrow. “We could watch something. A movie or whatever.”
Bob turned red instantly, so red it almost glowed through his hoodie. “Uh…”
“Oh my God,” she laughed, leaning toward him with her lips curled in amusement. “What were you thinking I meant?”
“N-Nothing!” he stammered, though his voice cracked. “Just—just a movie. Yep.”
She tilted her head and smiled wider, teasing. “You totally thought I was seducing you.”
“No, I didn’t!” he said, his voice too high, too defensive.
“You absolutely did.” She laughed again, softer this time. “I could see it in your eyes. You went all deer-in-headlights, Bobby.”
He looked away, scratching the back of his neck. “I mean… It’s our third date…”
“And we haven’t even kissed,” she said, more gently this time. She was looking at him, really looking. “That’s okay, you know.”
Bob nodded slowly, still not meeting her eyes. “Yeah. I know.”
The car grew quiet for a moment. The kind of quiet that wasn’t awkward—just full of unspoken things. The rain was heavier now, soft and steady, a lullaby on the roof.
Then Y/N leaned over slightly, not enough to make it too serious, just enough that her shoulder brushed his again. “So… you wanna come over or not?”
He turned toward her again, finally smiling that crooked, shy smile of his. “Yeah,” he said softly. “Yeah, I’d like that.”
She winked and started the car.

Y/N unlocked the door with one hand and flicked on the hallway light with the other, her apartment filling with a warm, amber glow. It was a small space—cozy more than cramped, cluttered with personal touches: a stack of books that lived on the coffee table, mismatched throw pillows that had clearly been collected over time, a framed Polaroid of her and some friends stuck to the fridge with a glittery magnet shaped like a donut. It smelled faintly like vanilla and old incense.
“Home sweet home,” she said, kicking off her sneakers and tossing her keys into a little ceramic bowl by the door.
Bob stepped in behind her, moving like he didn’t want to disturb the air. His eyes flicked around the space, taking in everything, silently noting how her this place felt. It was lived in. Warm. Safe.
“Nice,” he said with a shy smile. “It’s… you.”
She grinned. “That better not be your way of calling it messy.”
“Messy’s charming,” he replied, rubbing the back of his neck. “So, uh… where’s the TV?”
She pointed to the living room. “Couch is yours. I’ll get the snacks. No movie night without popcorn, it’s illegal.”
Bob shuffled into the living room and plopped onto the couch, sinking slightly into the cushions. A large fuzzy blanket was already thrown over one armrest, and the TV remote rested on the other, just waiting for someone to grab it. He picked it up and started scrolling through her cable channels—no Netflix login anywhere in sight.
From the kitchen, she called out, “Don’t bother looking for Netflix, by the way. I refuse to pay for it on principle.”
Bob blinked. “Wait, what principle?”
“The principle that I already pay for internet, rent, utilities, and my crippling caffeine addiction. Something’s gotta give.”
He laughed, glancing toward the kitchen where she was pouring kernels into an old stovetop popper like a professional. “So, no Netflix. What are our options then?”
She popped her head out from behind the doorframe, holding up a giant metal bowl with flair. “Cable roulette, baby. Let the gods decide.”
Bob chuckled as he continued to flip through. A couple of random sitcoms, a rerun of a baking competition, something that looked like a low-budget horror movie.
Then he paused.
“Oh—this one,” he said, perking up. “It’s just starting.”
It was one of those timeless adventure films—part comedy, part heart, with a little magic thrown in. The kind of movie people quote years later like it shaped their childhoods.
She returned a minute later, carrying the giant bowl of buttery, still-warm popcorn, and proudly presented it to him.
“Tada.”
Bob looked up at her, eyes soft. “Is it bad that all your surprises are food-related?”
She gave him an offended gasp. “Food is a great love language.”
He took a handful of popcorn and grinned. “I’m just saying—at this rate, our next date’s gonna have to be a jog.”
“You calling me out on my snack habits, Reynolds?”
“Just looking out for future me,” he joked. “Don’t want to get fat and slow while trying to impress you.”
They both laughed as she curled up beside him on the couch, pulling the blanket over their legs without even asking. She sat close, the bowl between them, legs pressed lightly against his. He tried not to think about how good that felt—how even the slightest brush of her thigh against his sent a heat curling into his chest.
The movie played on, and they made the occasional sarcastic comment under their breath, snickering over cheesy dialogue or pointing out ridiculous plot holes. Bob tried to focus on the screen, but every so often, his eyes drifted to her. The flicker of the TV cast soft shadows across her face, highlighting the curve of her cheek, the way her mouth twitched when she was trying not to smile. She didn’t know she did that. He found it endlessly fascinating.
And then, their knees bumped again—just slightly—and she turned her head, catching him.
He froze, mid-popcorn bite, like a raccoon in a trash can caught with a flashlight.
She raised an eyebrow. “Something you like ?”
He flushed instantly, face going pink. “Wasn’t— I wasn’t—”
“I’m gorgeous, I know,” she said with a grin, bumping his leg. “You’re so lucky.”
He let out a small, bashful laugh, looking down at his lap, embarrassed beyond belief.
But then, she shifted.
Her teasing smile softened into something quieter. She reached out, gently brushing her hand against his arm, and leaned into him, resting her head against his shoulder, then slowly, against his chest. She tucked herself under his arm like she belonged there, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
“I really do like you, Bobby,” she said, barely above a whisper. “Like, a lot.”
Bob didn’t breathe for a second. He just stared down at the top of her head, her hair catching the light. He felt her heartbeat, steady and close, against his ribs.
And he knew.
He wrapped his arm around her, holding her close, letting himself melt into the moment he didn’t think he’d ever deserve.
“Guess I was the one who got the lottery ticket in the end,” he whispered.
--
The soft flicker of the television still lit the room, casting warm shadows over the now half-empty popcorn bowl that had long gone cold on the coffee table. The movie had played on quietly in the background, its third act slowly winding into an emotional crescendo neither of them saw coming—because somewhere between one of her whispered jokes and his quiet chuckles, they had both drifted off to sleep.
Y/N stirred first.
A sudden loud crash from the film’s climax jolted her upright, eyes wide and heart pounding. She blinked a few times, trying to process where she was. The room was dim now, just the blue glow from the credits rolling across the screen. Bob, still curled up beside her with his head resting slightly back against the couch cushion, blinked awake seconds later, startled.
“Wha—what happened?” he mumbled groggily, sitting up, his voice rough with sleep. “Did something explode?”
Y/N grabbed her phone from the armrest and squinted at the screen, the harsh light making her wince. “Shit—it’s past 1 a.m.”
Bob straightened up quickly, suddenly aware of the late hour. “1 a.m.?” he echoed, rubbing at his face with both hands before reaching for his jacket on the couch arm. “I should get going then. Damn, I didn’t mean to pass out.”
She sat up beside him, still blinking the sleep from her eyes. “Wait—are you seriously going to walk home right now?”
He was already halfway standing, slipping his phone into his pocket. “I mean... yeah? I live like forty minutes away, but it’s not that bad—”
“Bob,” she said, more firmly now, placing a hand on his arm to stop him. “It’s freezing outside, it’s stupid late, and you’re literally half-asleep. I’m not letting you walk home like that. Stay.”
He looked at her, hesitating, his hand resting awkwardly on the back of his neck.
“Are you sure?” he asked, voice softer now, uncertain. “I don’t want to be a burden.”
“You’re not,” she said without missing a beat. “I wouldn’t offer if I didn’t want you to.”
He opened his mouth to protest again, but she was already grabbing the blanket from the couch.
“You can take the bed,” she said over her shoulder. “It’s comfier. I’ll grab some blankets and crash here.”
Bob's eyebrows shot up. “Wait—what? No, no way. You’re not giving up your bed for me.”
“Bob—”
“I’ll take the couch. Seriously. You already cooked the popcorn and laughed at all my dumb jokes. I’m not about to kick you out of your own bed.”
Y/N stopped mid-step, holding a pillow against her chest.
She looked at him, a little sheepish now, something almost shy in the way she bit her lip.
“Well…” she started slowly, “the couch isn’t exactly five-star hotel material. Springs kinda poke you if you sit the wrong way.”
Bob blinked.
She hesitated, clearly fighting her own nervousness, and then said it:
“We could just… share the bed?”
Bob froze.
It wasn’t a suggestive offer—it was soft, hesitant, spoken with a touch of nervous laughter that told him she wasn’t trying to rush anything or make it weird. Her cheeks were pink, and she wouldn’t quite meet his eyes.
“I mean,” she continued quickly, “we could do the whole back-to-back thing, or throw a pillow wall in the middle. Just sleep. It’s really not that big of a deal, right?”
He could feel the heat rising in his face, all the way to the tips of his ears.
“I—uh…” He swallowed hard. “Yeah. Okay. That makes sense.”
She looked up at him now, really looked at him, and smiled—gentle, reassuring.
“We’re comfortable with each other, right?”
Bob nodded slowly. “Yeah. Yeah, we are.”
A few minutes later, they were both in her bedroom.
It was small and soft, the kind of room that smelled like lavender detergent and something warm and feminine. There were string lights hanging above the bed, giving off a golden glow, and the sheets were already turned down from earlier.
Y/N had quickly slipped into a pair of pajama shorts and an oversized t-shirt in her bathroom, her hair tied up messily. Bob stood at the edge of the bed looking impossibly awkward, holding a folded blanket in his arms like it was a shield.
“I promise not to snore,” she teased lightly, climbing into her side of the bed and fluffing her pillow.
“I make no promises,” he mumbled, still blushing, as he awkwardly lowered himself onto the other side of the bed, fully clothed, stiff as a board.
They lay there for a moment in silence.
Then she turned to him slightly. “You okay?”
He exhaled. “Yeah. Just, you know… never done this before. Like this. Not with someone who—” he paused, “—who makes it feel like something more.”
She smiled faintly, turning her face toward him in the dark.
“Good. Me neither.”
For a moment, they just looked at each other—barely visible under the soft fairy lights, but everything was clear in their expressions. They were still new, still learning, but something about it already felt like home.
Bob shifted slightly, adjusting to face her fully. His arm folded beneath his head, and hers rested lightly on her pillow, fingers curled near her chin.
“That movie sucked,” Y/N whispered with a grin.
Bob laughed under his breath. “You were the one who picked it.”
“Excuse you, you said it looked ‘promising.’ I distinctly remember that.”
“Only because the poster had, like, three explosions and a dramatic tagline,” he teased.
She snorted. “Yeah, and it delivered… exactly none of that.”
They giggled together quietly, their voices softened by the late hour and the closeness of the room.
Bob let the laughter fade into a quieter breath, and for a beat, he just watched her.
She noticed.
“What?” she asked softly, her lips curving gently.
He hesitated, visibly battling the nerves crawling under his skin. His fingers twitched slightly on the sheets between them.
“I…” he started, voice quiet but sincere, “Can I kiss you?”
Her breath caught slightly, a small smile forming — but not a teasing one this time. It was soft, touched with warmth and surprise.
“Yes,” she said, her voice just as quiet. “Yeah. Please.”
He moved closer, slow like he was approaching something sacred. Their noses brushed, and he hesitated one last second—then kissed her.
It was gentle. Soft. The kind of first kiss that made the world feel like it shifted ever so slightly beneath you.
She responded immediately, her fingers lifting to gently brush his jaw, encouraging him, guiding him. The kiss deepened slowly, breath mingling, hands finding each other. It was warm, explorative, delicate — but full of something real.
Bob’s hand slid around her waist, his thumb stroking just under the hem of her shirt. Her own hand, featherlight, slipped under his t-shirt, her fingers skimming across his chest. The touch made him gasp softly against her mouth, his heart racing.
Then he froze.
Just for a second.
He pulled back slightly, breath shaky, eyes searching hers with something between awe and panic. “Sorry,” he whispered, “I didn’t mean to—was that too fast? I didn’t want to mess anything up, I—”
She only looked at him, calm and radiant in the glow of the lights, and leaned forward to press a kiss to his forehead.
“Hey,” she murmured, brushing her fingers through his hair. “It’s okay.”
His eyes blinked up at her in awe, lost for words.
Then she shifted, slowly, confidently — straddling him with ease and grace, the quiet rustle of the sheets following her movement.
She pulled her shirt over her head and let it drop to the floor beside the bed, the strands of her hair falling loose around her shoulders. There was no nervousness in her gaze—only love. Trust. And a bit of playful spark.
Bob's breath hitched, his hands hovering as if afraid to touch something so precious.
She leaned down and kissed him softly, her lips brushing his cheek before she whispered close to his ear:
“Do you want me, Bobby?”
His voice came out in a breathless rush. “Yes. Yes.”
She smiled at his answer, biting her lip. “Then you’ve got too many clothes on, Bobby.”
He looked up at her, stunned and overwhelmed in the best way, his heart thudding so hard it echoed in his ears.

ONYX STORM THEORY
THERE ARE SPOILERS !!!!
I can’t take all the credit for this, my friend @wishfulimaginings has helped me a bit to put this together, and it’s kind of out there but it could make sense …..
So we learn there are 6 gods/goddesses : Amari : Queen of the Gods, Dunne : God of war, Malek : God of Death, Loial : God of Love, Zihnal : God of Luck, and Hedeon : God of Wisdom
And we learn there are 6 rare signets, and they haven’t been seen since the First Wars. And as of now we have 4/6 rare signets : Xaden : Shadows, Violet : Lightning, Garrick : Distant walker, and Aaric : precognition (way better than Melgran.. can see the future)
So what if … each of the gods blessed or “touched” the Original Six from the 6 provinces resulting in powerful/rare signets. And there are also 6 dragon types
We know Violet is dedicated to Dunne, and im think Xaden is god-touched by Loial because he is constantly talking about how Violet has his soul and it’s his love for Violet that drives every action
I think Ridoc is god-touched by Zihnal. He mentions that Zihnal is his personal favorite, and that’s how he gets so “lucky” with partners. Zihnal’s gift to Ridoc is a kiss on both cheeks, one of the better gifts out of the group and he even misses death when the chef throws his dagger and it misses
I’m not sure about the other 3 … but I have thoughts of how they could fit, but im still working on it. And I haven’t seen anyone else mention this, but if someone else has let me know !!!!
UPDATE !!!!!
This is the conclusion I’ve come too ..
Amari - Rhiannon
Dunne - Violet
Headon - Aaric
Loial - Xaden
Zihnal - Ridoc ???
Malek - Garrick ???
The last 2 im still kind of iffy on and with all the interviews with RY on tour right now my mind is FULL of ideas

ONE SHOT: GRAVITY
paige x azzi
warning: sexual content (lowkey crazy)
word count: 15.6k
A/N: This is lowkey crazy. It wasn’t supposed to be this long but I wanted to follow their prompt fully because they included so many details🥹. This is for whoever asked me to write them in a homoerotic friendship with jealous girlfriends and hella tension. I hope I brought your vision to life 🫶🏼. Also the sexual content is a little crazy just a heads up ✨ it’s what they asked for 😀 Them love reacts better be long because this was rough
—————————————————————————
The first time Paige met Azzi, it was like something in the universe clicked into place. It wasn’t anything dramatic—no lightning bolts or instant sparks between them—but there was a certain ease between them that Paige couldn’t ignore. It was during a Team USA training camp, and while most of the other girls were politely navigating introductions, Paige, in true Paige fashion, latched onto Azzi like they’d known each other forever.
“Alright I guess I’m stuck with you,” Azzi had said after Paige had followed her to nearly every drill, every water break, and even halfway to the locker room. There was a teasing edge to her voice, but the corners of her lips twitched with the beginnings of a smile. A real smile. Not the polite kind she gave to everyone else, but something softer, something that would eventually become just for Paige.
Paige, of course, had grinned wide, completely unbothered by the jab. “Don’t worry you’ll get used to it,” she’d said with a shrug, already acting like they were inseparable. And, as it turned out, they were.
From that moment on, they’d been each other’s shadow. Azzi liked to pretend Paige’s constant attention annoyed her, always throwing in a sarcastic comment or rolling her eyes when Paige got particularly clingy. But anyone who knew Azzi well enough could see the way her expression softened whenever Paige was near. She didn’t just tolerate Paige; she thrived with her around.
Over the years, their friendship grew deeper, more complicated in ways neither of them could have predicted. It wasn’t just the jokes and playful shoves or the way Paige always knew how to make Azzi laugh, even on her worst days. It was the way they existed in each other’s space so naturally, so effortlessly, that it almost felt like breathing and breathing got a little harder when the other one wasn’t around.
At first, the lines they crossed were small, so subtle they could almost pretend they weren’t there. Azzi’s hand lingering a second too long on Paige’s shoulder during a team huddle. The way Paige’s voice softened when she spoke to Azzi, even when she was in full-on competitive mode or yelling two seconds before. Then there were the private moments—stolen late-night conversations where the rest of the world faded away, leaving just the two of them and whatever unspoken thing pulsed between them.
Neither of them addressed it. Why would they? What they had felt perfect as it was. They leaned into it, basked in it, even as it made their exes irritable or filled with discomfort.
“How can you not see it?” one of Paige’s exes demanded once, her voice rising with frustration in the middle of Paige’s room. “The way you two look at each other—it’s like I don’t even exist when she’s around!” Paige had shrugged off the accusation, the same way she always did. She wasn’t about to dissect her relationship with Azzi for anyone, least of all someone who clearly didn’t get it.
Azzi had similar run-ins with her own girlfriends. One had even gone as far as to call Paige a “third wheel,” which made Azzi laugh harder than it probably should have at the idea of Paige being the one who was the third wheel. “Look if you’re insecure,” she’d said coolly, “then maybe this isn’t going to work.” It hadn’t.
Through all the breakups and messy accusations, Paige and Azzi never changed. They stayed in their little bubble, handsy and playful and just a little too intense, but never quite crossing the line. It was safer that way, they told themselves multiple times. Safer to stay in the gray area, where nothing could go wrong and everything stayed perfect.
Except, now, they were older, so things were starting to feel different. Heavier. The looks lasted way too long. The touches lingered with a heat that left both of them feeling uncomfortable.
Now, as juniors at UConn, Paige and Azzi had built something unshakable—at least, unshakable to them. Paige, a red-shirt junior after tearing her ACL the year before, had made her way back to the court with Azzi as her biggest supporter every step of the way. They had been through it all together: the grueling practices, the late-night study sessions, the euphoric wins, the heartbreaking injuries, they have spent almost every memorable moment of their lives by one anothers side. Yet, for some reason neither could articulate—or maybe they just didn’t want to—they refused to fully cross the line and be together.
Which left them here: two college athletes in their 20s, in the best shape of their lives, with years of unresolved tension simmering between them. It was almost comical when Paige thought about it. How many times had she walked into Azzi’s dorm, knowing full well that she wasn’t going to be able to do what she wanted.
Living just a few doors down from each other didn’t help. If anything, it made things worse. Proximity was its own kind of torture. Paige would find herself drunkenly walking past Azzi’s room after a night out clenching her jaw at the thought of knocking.
Whenever the two of them were in the same room, everyone else might as well not exist. It was a phenomenon their teammates had long since grown used to, though it still sparked the occasional teasing when one of them was being unreasonably jealous. At parties, team meetings, or even casual hangouts, Paige and Azzi had this way of orbiting each other. Sometimes it was as simple as the way Paige would lean in close when Azzi spoke, her eyes fixed on Azzi’s lips the entire time. Other times, it was the way Azzi’s hand would find Paige’s arm, her fingers wrapping around her bicep as if it was her right to do so.
Their teammates noticed. Their friends noticed. And, of course, their girlfriends noticed.
It was a source of constant arguments for both of them. Paige’s girlfriend, frustrated and teetering on the edge of insecurity, had confronted her more than once. “Why do you even need me if you have her?” she’d snapped during one particularly heated fight. Paige had stared at her, dumbfounded, because what was she supposed to say? What did she expect her to say? That she didn’t need Azzi? That she could go a day without thinking about her, texting her, missing her when she wasn’t around?
“You’re overreacting,” Paige said, her voice clipped. “Azzi’s my best friend. I’m not about to change how I am with her because you don’t like it.”
Azzi’s girlfriend expressed similar frustrations, accusing her of being “too close” to Paige, of crossing lines that no one else seemed to get away with. Azzi had brushed it off just as easily as Paige had, if not easier. “If you can’t handle me having a best friend, then maybe I’m not the type of girl you’re looking for,” she’d said coolly, shutting the conversation down before it could spiral.
And so the cycle continued. Arguments, tension, half-hearted apologies, and a refusal to change. Because the truth was, Paige and Azzi didn’t see anything wrong with the way they were. To them, it was just how they worked. How they had always worked. They weren’t going to apologize for it.
But deep down, they both knew it wasn’t that simple. It wasn’t simple at all really. They were completely in love with one another.
For now, though, they kept pretending. Pretending that their girlfriends’ constant jealousy didn’t irritate them. Pretending that their late-night conversations and far too intimate inanimate behavior was completely innocent. Pretending that they weren’t both standing on the edge of a bridge waiting for something inevitable to plunge them into freezing water.
Because once they jumped, there would be no going back, no pretending it didn’t exist anymore. And maybe—just maybe—that’s exactly what they were afraid of.
The dorm common room was lively with chatter and the soft clinking of LEGO pieces filling the air as KK, Ice, and Jana sat at the table, deeply engrossed in their latest construction project. Paige, however, was sprawled on the couch, absentmindedly scrolling on her phone. Her girlfriend, Kehlani, sat beside her, the two of them technically together but clearly existing in separate worlds at the moment. Kehlani had been trying, unsuccessfully, to get Paige’s attention for the last 15 minutes, only to give up and return to her own phone in silent frustration when Paige was incessant that she was doing something important.
The atmosphere shifted the moment Azzi walked in. Dressed in her usual athletic wear and exuding her effortless confidence, she greeted the group at the table saying casually, “What are y’all building now?” KK mumbled something about a Star Wars set, but Azzi was already moving past them, her attention zeroing in on the couch—and on Paige.
“Hey,” Azzi said with a grin, walking straight up to them as if Kehlani wasn’t even there. Without hesitation, she plopped down on the couch, her movements familiar. In one smooth motion, she grabbed Paige’s knee, parting them just enough to slide her own legs in between, draping them comfortably across Paige’s lap.
Kehlani looked up from her phone, her eyebrows furrowing as she watched the scene unfold. But she didn’t say anything. This was tame compared to some of the things she’s witnessed.
Paige, on the other hand, chuckled softly, locking her phone and setting it aside. “Hello to you too,” she said, her tone teasing.
Azzi grinned, leaning back against the arm of the couch. “I missed you,” she said casually, her eyes locking with Paige’s. “I haven’t seen you all day.”
Paige’s focus was now fully on Azzi, something Kehlani had been desperately trying to achieve. “You’re the one who’s been busy,” Paige shot back with a playful smirk, her hand sliding over Azzi’s leg as she adjusted it, pulling it more securely into her lap. The movement was instinctive, practiced—like they’d done this a hundred times before.
Kehlani’s grip on her phone tightened. She glanced between them, her lips pressing into a thin line. “Do you need me to move over?” she asked, her tone sharper than she intended.
Paige blinked, as if remembering for the first time that Kehlani was even there. “Huh? Nah, you’re fine,” she said quickly, brushing off the question. Her hand, however, didn’t move from Azzi’s leg.
Azzi leaned her head back against the couch, a small smirk tugging at the corner of her lips. “You’re being dramatic, Paige,” she teased, ignoring Kehlani entirely and going back to their original conversation. “I wasn’t even that busy today.”
“Could’ve fooled me,” Paige quipped, her fingers absentmindedly tracing circles on Azzi’s shin.
From the table, Ice shot KK a knowing look, raising an eyebrow as if to say here we go again. KK stifled a laugh, shaking her head as she turned back to the LEGO set. They’d seen this dynamic play out too many times to be surprised anymore.
Kehlani, however, was visibly uncomfortable, shifting in her seat and staring at the two of them like she was waiting for something—anything—to break the tension. But nothing ever did. Everyone knew this was just how they were. What no one could quite figure out, though, was why either of their “girlfriends” put up with it.
It wasn’t like Paige or Azzi had ever pretended their relationships were sacred. In fact, both had made it crystal clear on more than one occasion that they wouldn’t hesitate to walk away and that this was just something casual for when they were in season. “If you don’t like how we are, we can end it,” Paige had once said, almost nonchalantly, during a heated argument. Azzi wasn’t any different, offering Kali a similar, “You really don’t have to stay.”
But for whatever reason—whether it was the allure of dating two of UConn’s biggest stars or simply the hope that things might change—Kehlani and Kali stayed around. They endured. They tolerated. Even when moments like this made it painfully clear they were never going to be anything more than someone to turn to here and there when the tension became too uncomfortable to sit with.
Paige licked her lips absently, lifting her hips slightly to adjust Azzi’s legs again, which were still draped over her lap like they belonged there. Her hand gave an idle squeeze to Azzi’s calf before she glanced up. “You busy tonight?” she asked casually, her attention fixed entirely on Azzi.
Azzi tilted her head, her brown eyes drifting down to Paige’s hand on her leg. “Why?” she asked, her voice laced with flirtation.
Paige smirked. “Whatchu mean ‘why?’” she shot back, leaning into the word with a playful edge.
“Why are you asking me if I’m busy tonight?” Azzi pressed, a smile on her face, clearly enjoying the banter.
Paige rolled her eyes, leaning back against the couch. “I’m tryna come over,” she said simply. “Maybe watch a movie or something.”
Azzi chuckled softly, like she knew exactly where this was going. “You fall asleep every time,” she pointed out, her gaze flicking back up to Paige’s.
“Probably because you always pick boring-ass movies,” Paige said, a huge smile on her face.
Azzi’s laughter followed quickly. “You picked the last movie,” she countered, her voice full of mock indignation.
Their back-and-forth was so effortless, so locked into their own little world, that it took Kehlani a moment to realize they’d completely forgotten she was even sitting there. But she hadn’t forgotten. Not for a second.
“What if I want to hang out with Paige tonight?” Kehlani interjected suddenly, her voice cutting through the conversation.
Azzi froze, but only for a moment, her expression unreadable as she leaned back and waited for Paige’s response. She didn’t need to say anything—she already knew Paige would.
Paige turned her head, finally acknowledging Kehlani for the first time fully since Azzi had walked in. “Come on,” she said, her tone light, almost dismissive. “You’ve been with me all day. We can just hang out tomorrow.”
Kehlani’s mouth opened slightly, her brow furrowing as she processed the casualness of it all—the way Paige said it like it was obvious, like it wasn’t even up for debate.
Kehlani’s voice was sharper now, her frustration rising. “What if I don’t want to hang out tomorrow?”
Paige shrugged, unfazed. “Then we’ll hang out the next day.” Her tone was calm, almost too calm, as if she couldn’t understand why Kehlani was making this a bigger deal than it needed to be.
For some reason, that made it worse. Kehlani’s frustration boiled over, her voice rising just enough to catch the attention of KK and Ice at the table. “You don’t get it, do you? This isn’t just about hanging out, Paige!”
Paige exhaled, visibly trying to keep her cool as she leaned back against the couch, her hand still casually draped over Azzi’s leg. “Look, I’m not about to argue with you in front of everybody right now,” she said evenly.
Kehlani crossed her arms, leaning forward slightly. “What? You embarrassed?”
Paige let out a soft chuckle, shaking her head as if the question was almost laughable. Her hands remained where they were—comfortable, unbothered, still casually resting on Azzi, who hadn’t even looked up from her phone since the interruption. “No,” Paige said. “I’m just not about to argue with you right now.”
But Kehlani wasn’t backing down, she never did, her voice rising again as she tried to provoke Paige like always. “Right, because Azzi’s here. You don’t want to look bad in front of her, huh?”
Paige’s eyes flicked to her briefly before she shook her head again, her voice calm. “Come on, don’t make me do this to you in front of everybody.”
Her words, said so casually yet so definitively, made Kehlani’s face flush with a mix of anger and humiliation. KK, Ice and Jana exchanged awkward glances, clearly trying to stay out of it but they were struggling to hold in their giggles.
Azzi, still scrolling on her phone, finally shifted slightly, glancing between the two of them before giving Paige a subtle nudge with her foot, like she was silently telling her to chill. Paige glanced at her, the smallest smile tugging at the corner of her lips before she turned back to Kehlani.
“You good?” Paige asked simply, her voice a little softer. It wasn’t a question that invited a real argument—it was a question that implied this conversation was over.
Kehlani’s lips pressed into a line as she sat back, crossing her arms tightly over her chest. She didn’t say anything else, but the tension in the room was thick, her frustration hanging heavy in the air.
Azzi shifted slightly in Paige’s lap, breaking the silence with a small sigh as she finally spoke. “Y’all good? Or can we go back to pretending this isn’t super awkward?”
KK, Ice, and Jana’s laughter finally filled the room as Paige and Azzi went back to their conversation.
“Alright so, what’s the move?” Paige asked, her voice low as she shifted slightly, her arm still resting over Azzi’s leg. “Your room or mine?”
Azzi smiled, tilting her head as her eyes dropped to Paige’s hand absentmindedly tracing patterns against her skin. “Mine. Obviously.”
“Obviously? Az bro, please. My bed is bigger. Way more comfortable.”
Azzi’s lips quirked. “Your bed’s overrated and I can never wake up on time in there with those black out curtains.”
Paige raised an eyebrow. “One my bed isn’t overrated and you know it. Two, I can't handle your non-existent curtains. It wakes me up too early.”
“I know you can’t handle it,” Azzi teased, her smirk growing. “You whine about it every single time. It’s cute, though—makes me think you just like finding reasons to stay.”
The room seemed to grow smaller at that, the air between them growing a little tense. Paige’s laugh came a little too late, her fingers tightening slightly around Azzi’s leg. “Don’t flatter yourself. I stay for the snacks.”
Azzi tilted her head, her gaze flickering to Paige’s lips before settling back on her eyes. “You sure about that?” she asked, her voice dipping lower.
Paige held her gaze, her smirk faltering for a split second as her tongue darted out to wet her lips. “Pretty sure. You don’t have anything else I want.”
Azzi leaned closer, her voice barely above a whisper. “You’ve always been such a bad liar Paige.”
Across the room, Jana stilled mid-motion, her hand hovering over a Lego piece as her eyes darted to the two of them. KK and Ice exchanged a look, KK mouthing a silent “Yikes” before turning back to their project.
“You’re ridiculous,” Paige said, shaking her head with a soft laugh, but the way her fingers brushed over Azzi’s leg a little higher betrayed her.
“Ridiculous enough to keep you coming back,” Azzi shot back.
Paige opened her mouth to respond, but her breath hitched when Azzi added, “But I get it—you gotta keep up appearances. We’ll see later.”
Paige’s jaw tightened, her laugh coming out strained. “Yeah we’ll see later.”
That was the moment Kehlani finally broke, the tension in her chest snapping. She stood abruptly, her phone clutched tightly in her hand.
Paige barely looked up, still holding Azzi’s gaze. “You good?”
Kehlani let out a humorless laugh. “Yeah, I’m great. Just remembered I’ve got somewhere else to be.”
Azzi finally turned her head, raising an eyebrow as she glanced at Kehlani. “You sure?”
Kehlani ignored the comment, grabbing her bag and slinging it over her shoulder. “Have fun tonight Paige. Looks like you already are.”
Paige’s smirk faded as she watched Kehlani walk out, the door slamming harder than it needed to. For a moment, the room was quiet, save for the faint sound of KK, Ice and Jana pretending to be preoccupied with their Legos.
Azzi broke the silence, her voice light. “Think she’s mad at me?”
Paige chuckles, leaning back against the couch. “She’s mad at me,” she muttered, though her hand stayed firmly on Azzi’s leg.
“Can’t blame her,” Azzi said softly, her eyes locking with Paige’s again. “I’d be mad too if I had to watch this.”
Paige’s breath caught, her fingers flexing against Azzi’s skin before she forced herself to look away, her jaw clenching so tightly it ached.
Jana raised her eyebrows, fully catching the moment and glancing toward KK and Ice like, Are we really going to pretend we didn’t hear that? But Ice just shook her head, mouthing, Let it go.
Paige finally exhaled, her voice low as she tried to steer the conversation back. “So…whose room is it gonna be?”
Azzi’s grin returned. “Yours,” she said. “But only because you’re such a baby about my blinds and I’m being nice.”
Paige huffed out a laugh, holding out her hand to Azzi. “Let’s go before you say something else that gets me in trouble.”
Azzi took her hand, standing up and leaning just close enough to murmur, “Maybe I can do something this time instead.”
…
The glow of the TV screen cast a faint light across Paige's room, illuminating the two of them as they lay side by side on her bed. The random movie playing in the background barely registered to either of them, its plotline easily forgotten beneath the quiet hum of tension that seemed to follow them everywhere.
Paige had ditched her hoodie the moment they got comfortable, leaving her in a fitted black tank top that clung to her toned frame and a pair of loose gray sweats that hung on her hips. Azzi, meanwhile, had claimed one of Paige’s XL hoodies she stole from the storage closet—navy blue with "UConn" printed across the chest—and it practically swallowed her, the hoodie just long enough to hide her pajama shorts underneath.
For a while, they sat in relative silence, their occasional comments about the movie mixed in with quiet chuckles.
Paige adjusted her position, shifting slightly to lean back against her headboard. Her hands slid behind her head, fingers lacing together as she let out a content sigh. The movement caused the hem of her tank top to ride up, revealing a strip of skin just above the waistband of her sweats.
Azzi’s gaze flicked downward, the motion unintentional at first—but once her eyes landed on the exposed skin, they lingered. The way Paige’s muscles shifted with each breath was almost hypnotic.
Without fully thinking about it, Azzi reached out, her fingers brushing lightly over the bare skin.
Paige’s head tilted down, her brow lifting as her eyes met Azzi’s. “What are you doing?” she asked softly, her tone somewhere between amused and curious.
Azzi didn’t stop, her fingers tracing slow, lazy patterns along the line of Paige’s stomach. Her touch was featherlight, sending a trail of goosebumps in its wake. “What does it look like I’m doing?” she replied.
Paige shifted slightly, her stomach tensing under Azzi’s touch. “Looks like you’re trying to distract me.”
“Distract you from what?” Azzi asked, a smile forming on her face. Her eyes flicked up to Paige’s, the challenge clear in them.
Paige exhaled, a small, breathy laugh escaping her lips. “From this terrible movie you picked.”
Azzi snorted softly, her fingers still moving in slow circles. “You picked the movie,” she corrected.
“Well, you didn’t stop me,” Paige countered, her voice soft but strained as she shifted again, her arms dropping to her sides. Her hand moved instinctively, fingers lightly wrapping around Azzi’s wrist to still her movements.
Azzi’s smile deepened, her thumb now brushing deliberately against Paige’s skin. “You gonna stop me?” she asked, her voice dipping lower, the question feeling heavier than it should have.
Paige stared at her, the air between them growing impossibly thick. “Should I?” she asked back, her voice quiet, almost a whisper.
For a moment, neither of them moved, the only sound in the room being the faint dialogue from the forgotten movie. Azzi’s fingers stilled against Paige’s stomach, but she didn’t pull away, her gaze locked on Paige’s like she was daring her to make the next move.
Paige’s jaw tightened slightly. “You’re gonna start something we can’t finish,” she murmured.
Azzi didn’t respond right away, but the glint in her eyes said more than words ever could. Instead, she moved, her weight shifting as she climbed on top of Paige, settling herself comfortably in her lap. She straddled Paige’s waist effortlessly, her knees sinking into the mattress on either side of her.
Paige didn't even react. So used to having Azzi on her like this but this time her eyes narrowed slightly in curiosity when Azzi grabbed the loose string of Paige’s sweatpants.
Azzi’s fingers toyed with the string lazily, looping it around her finger as if she had all the time in the world. Her expression was calm but her eyes burned with unspoken intent. “Who says we can’t finish it?” she finally said, her voice low, almost a purr.
Paige let out a breathless laugh, her gaze locked on Azzi’s. “You’re bold tonight,” she said, though the small smile tugging at her lips betrayed any attempt at sounding unaffected.
Azzi just smirked, her head tilting slightly. “I’ve always been bold,” she said, her hands still playing with the string.
Before she could push it further, Paige’s hands came up, wrapping around Azzi’s wrists firmly but gently to get her to stop. Her fingers slipped between Azzi’s, interlacing them as she guided their hands away from her waist. Paige looked up at her, the smile on her face soft but her grip strong.
“You’re gonna get us in trouble,” Paige murmured, her voice strained. She didn’t look away, her thumbs absentmindedly brushing against Azzi’s knuckles.
Azzi leaned in closer, their faces now only inches apart. “Trouble?” she repeated, her breath warm against Paige’s skin. “I think you like trouble.”
Paige’s smile widened slightly, her eyes dropping to Azzi’s lips for the briefest of moments before flicking back up. “Maybe,” she admitted, her voice low. “But not when it comes to you.”
Azzi raised an eyebrow, her smirk growing. “Especially when it comes to me.” she challenged back, her fingers tightening around Paige’s in response.
Paige didn’t answer immediately, her gaze searching Azzi’s face like she was trying to decide how far to let this go. Eventually, she exhaled sharply, shaking her head with a laugh. “You’re gonna be the death of me,” she said softly.
Azzi smiled, leaning back slightly but not moving from her spot. “Good thing I’ll make it worth it,” she replied.
Paige’s brow lifted at that, her lips curling into a grin. “Oh yeah? How you gonna make it worth it?”
Azzi leaned forward again, closing the gap between them just enough for her voice to drop. “That depends,” she said, her gaze locked on Paige’s. “What do you like?”
Paige blinked slowly, her smirk fading as her expression grew more serious. Her eyes searched Azzi’s, studying her, trying to gauge just how far Azzi was willing to take this tonight. The air between them was too thick, and for a moment, Paige almost didn’t answer. But then she sat up slightly, her confidence returning as she spoke.
“I like being in control,” she said simply.
Azzi’s head tilted at this, her lips curving into an intrigued smile. “Yeah?” she asked, her voice soft, almost coaxing.
Paige just nodded, her jaw tightening at Azzi’s tone as she kept her eyes on the curly haired girl, daring her to react.
Azzi hummed thoughtfully, her smile growing as she shifted her weight, pressing down just slightly to remind Paige of the position she was in. “What kind of control?” Azzi asked, her tone full of curiosity.
Paige let her head fall back slightly, her tongue running across her bottom lip before she looked up at Azzi through her lashes. “All of it,” she replied.
Azzi exhaled a short laugh, her eyes flickering with interest. “All of it,” she repeated, as if testing the words on her tongue. She leaned in closer, her lips just barely brushing the shell of Paige’s ear as she spoke. “What if I told you I like being submissive P?”
Paige’s brows raised slightly in surprise, her hands instinctively tightening their grip on Azzi’s. “Do you now?” she asked, her voice filled with curiosity but tinged with amusement.
Azzi pulled back just enough to look Paige in the eyes, her gaze steady. “I do,” she admitted, her voice softer now but still filled with confidence. “But no one’s ever been able to make me submit before.”
Paige’s fingers twitched where they were still holding Azzi’s hands, the slight movement enough to catch Azzi’s attention. Azzi glanced down at their joined hands, a small smile playing on her lips as she lifted them and guided Paige’s hands under her hoodie, placing them firmly on her waist.
The warmth of Azzi’s skin under her palms sent a jolt through Paige, her jaw tightening almost involuntarily. She shifted her hips beneath Azzi, trying to find some semblance of restraint, but the pressure between them only heightened the tension in the room. Their eyes locked, the silence between them speaking volumes as neither of them looked away.
Paige, unable to hold back any longer, tugged Azzi closer by the front of her hoodie, the sudden movement leaving no space between them. Azzi’s lips parted slightly, her eyes flickering with something playful as she whispered, “You want me.”
It wasn’t a question—it was a fact, delivered in that same confident tone Azzi always carried.
Paige chuckled softly, the sound low and rough, her grip tightening on Azzi’s waist. “No, I don’t,” she replied, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Azzi raised a brow at her, the corners of her lips curling into a smirk. “Right,” she said. “And the sky isn’t blue.”
Paige’s smirk widened as she tilted her head, leaning in slightly, their faces barely inches apart. “You want me,” she countered, her eyes boring into Azzi’s.
Azzi let out a soft laugh, shaking her head. “I don’t,” she denied, though her voice betrayed her, softer and less certain than it should’ve been if there was any truth to the words.
Paige’s gaze dropped to Azzi’s lips for a fleeting second before returning to her eyes. “Liar,” she murmured, her hands sliding ever so slightly higher under Azzi’s hoodie, her fingers pressing gently against her ribs.
Azzi swallowed, her breath getting stuck for a moment before she forced herself to smirk again. “Prove it,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper, the challenge clear in her tone.
Paige considered Azzi’s words for a moment, her eyes flicking between Azzi’s lips and the playful glint in her eyes. “We’ll get in trouble if I do,” Paige said.
Azzi tilted her head, her smile never falling as she leaned down. She stretched out over Paige’s chest, her weight settling comfortably as if she belonged there. Her lips hovered near Paige’s neck now, close enough that Paige could feel the faint brush of her breath.
Azzi didn’t say anything. She just lingered there, her nose grazing the edge of Paige’s jaw as she breathed her in, taking her time like she had all the patience in the world. The warmth of her closeness, the soft scent of her, was enough to send Paige’s pulse racing, her heart pounding so loudly she knew Azzi could feel it.
Neither of them spoke. The silence between them was heavy, but not uncomfortable—an unspoken understanding settling in the air that they went far enough today. Paige’s hands, still resting under Azzi’s hoodie, started to move, her fingers tracing slow, absentminded patterns along the curve of Azzi’s ribs. The light pressure of her touch seemed to ground them both, though Paige’s own heart was far from calm.
Azzi sighed softly, her breath warm against Paige’s neck as she nestled closer, her face burying deeper into the curve of Paige’s neck. Her weight was warm and familiar, her presence something that felt so natural.
The movie played on in the background, long forgotten. The screen’s flickering light painted their quiet moment in soft, shifting shadows, but neither of them noticed. Azzi’s breathing began to slow, her body relaxing fully against Paige’s.
Paige, too, felt herself drifting, the tension she always carried melting away as Azzi pressed into her. Her fingers still moved lightly against Azzi’s ribs, though her motions became lazier, slower, until they stopped altogether.
And just like that, they fell asleep.
…
The sharp flick of the light switch broke the quiet of the morning, alternating between brightness and darkness like a strobe. Paige groaned in protest, her face scrunching up against the sudden intrusion. With a low grumble, she shifted, her arms wrapping tighter around Azzi, who was still lying across her.
Without fully opening her eyes, Paige let out a frustrated huff and shifted their positions, rolling them over so that she was sprawled on top of Azzi. She buried her face in Azzi’s neck now, trying to shield herself from the offensive light.
“Seriously, Isuneh?” Paige muttered, her voice muffled and rough with sleep.
Azzi stirred beneath her, blinking awake slowly at the movement and the flickering light. She shifted, her hands lightly resting on Paige’s back. “What’s going on?” Azzi mumbled, her voice groggy.
Ice leaned casually against the doorframe, a smirk on her face as she flipped the light switch again. “Paige, Kehlani’s here,” she said. “Figured I’d spare you the argument today and come wake you up before I let her in.”
Paige groaned louder at this, her forehead pressing deeper into Azzi’s shoulder. “Turn it off. I don’t care,” she grumbled, her words barely audible.
Azzi’s lips quirked into a sleepy smile, her hand brushing lightly against Paige’s side. “Paige…” she said softly, trying to coax her.
When Ice flicked the light switch one more time for good measure, Paige let out another groan of annoyance, her fingers digging lightly into Azzi’s waist. “You’re dead to me,” she muttered toward Ice, though her face remained firmly hidden.
Azzi chuckled, now fully awake, her hand lazily tracing patterns along Paige’s back. She lifted her head slightly to glance at Ice. “I got it,” she said, her voice still soft and groggy. “Just give me five minutes.”
Ice raised a brow at the scene, the sight of Paige practically plastered to Azzi’s chest. But she said nothing, instead letting out a small laugh as she locked the door before shutting it behind her.
Azzi sighed, leaning her head back against the pillow. She reached for her phone on the nightstand, squinting at the screen. It was still early—way too early for any of this.
“Paige,” Azzi murmured, glancing down at the girl now sprawled across her. Paige didn’t respond, her body still dead weight against Azzi’s as if she had every intention of going back to sleep.
“We’ve got time,” Azzi said gently, her hand sliding up and down Paige’s spine. “Practice isn’t for another hour and a half.”
Paige shifted slightly, her arm tightening around Azzi’s waist as she mumbled something incoherent.
Azzi smiled softly, brushing a strand of hair from Paige’s face. “Go back to sleep grumpy,” she murmured, her voice calm.
Paige grumbled again, adjusting herself one last time, her breath evening out as she settled back into Azzi.
Azzi let her head fall back against the pillow, her fingers continuing to trace lazy patterns along Paige’s back. The warmth of their closeness and the quiet rhythm of Paige’s breathing lulled them both into an easy calm. Just as Azzi predicted, after about five minutes, Paige’s breathing evened out, signaling she’d fallen asleep again.
Azzi sighed softly, glancing down at the girl draped across her. Moving from under Paige without waking her was easier said than done. Every time Azzi shifted even slightly, Paige’s fingers instinctively grabbed at her, like she was tethered to her.
“Of course,” Azzi muttered under her breath, stifling a small laugh.
Finally, with painstaking slowness, Azzi managed to slide from under Paige and get up without disturbing her. She lingered for a moment, her gaze softening as she adjusted the blanket over Paige before grabbing her phone off the desk. Moving quietly, she slipped out of the room and shut the door gently behind her.
The sight in the living room made her stifle a laugh. Ice was leaning over the kitchen counter, her chin propped on her hand, clearly half-asleep. It didn’t take a genius to figure out she was only still awake to keep Kehlani from trying to go in the room.
Azzi chuckled, padding over to the counter. “Ice, go back to bed,” she said softly, her tone more amused than anything.
Ice blinked up at her, barely awake. “Oh my god I love you,” she mumbled before trudging off to her room, shutting the door behind her with a lazy swing.
Azzi turned toward the couch, where Kehlani was sitting, her arms crossed as she glanced up at Azzi. Her eyes flickered over Azzi’s frame—the oversized hoodie clearly belonging to Paige, paired with her pajama shorts just barely visible underneath.
Azzi walked toward the door, her steps casual. “You should let her sleep,” she said simply. “We’ve got practice later, and we’re traveling for a game tomorrow. She needs the extra rest.”
Her comment was purely practical, as always—Azzi thinking about Paige’s well-being like she always did. But Kehlani’s expression shifted, the neutrality of her gaze hardening slightly.
“I think I know what my girlfriend needs,” Kehlani said, her tone sharp.
Azzi stopped mid-step, turning slowly to face her. She didn’t say anything at first, just blinked at Kehlani blankly, her expression unreadable.
Kehlani’s posture stiffened, and the silence between them stretched for a moment too long.
Azzi tilted her head slightly, her calm demeanor never faltering. “If you say so,” she finally said, her voice almost dismissive. Then, without waiting for a response, she turned back toward the door.
The tension in the air was unmistakable, but Azzi had no intention of indulging Kehlani’s obvious irritation. Instead, she opened the door quietly and stepped into the hallway, leaving Kehlani sitting there, stewing in her own thoughts.
Azzi sighed as she opened the door to her room, only to freeze when she saw Kali sitting on the edge of her bed, arms crossed and her expression carefully neutral. It wasn’t unusual for Kali to speak her mind, but this was unexpected. Kali wasn’t like Kehlani—clingy and almost possessive. She had her own life and usually didn’t hover. So to find her waiting here now surprised Azzi.
“Hey,” Azzi greeted casually, recovering quickly as she walked toward the bed. She was determined to get at least 30 more minutes of sleep before practice.
Kali didn’t respond right away, just followed Azzi with her eyes as she flopped face-first onto the bed, mumbling into the sheets, “What’s up?”
“Where were you?” Kali asked, her voice calm.
“Fell asleep in Paige’s room watching a movie,” Azzi mumbled, barely lifting her head.
Kali’s tone didn’t change, but her next words were deliberate. “Kehlani texted me at a god forsaken hour. Said I should come ask you about it. Any idea why?”
Azzi let out a short laugh, turning her head just enough to glance at Kali. “I have no idea why that girl does anything she does.”
Kali tilted her head slightly, her expression sharp but not angry. “She thinks there’s something going on between you and Paige. And you know I agree with her.”
Azzi groaned, burying her face back into the pillow. So much for sleep. She pushed herself up on one elbow, her eyes meeting Kali’s. “I don’t know how many times I have to tell you—me and Paige aren’t fucking.”
Technically, Azzi wasn’t lying. She and Paige had never had sex. Sure, there was that one truth-or-dare kiss her freshman year, followed by a couple of hazy, alcohol-fueled kisses later that night. But that was years ago, and nothing had happened since then. So when she said it, she meant it.
Kali, however, didn’t seem convinced. “Then why can’t you two back off each other a little? Ease our minds.”
Azzi sighed, sitting up fully now, as she regarded Kali with a steady gaze. “I’m not going to stop being close with Paige,” she said, her tone softening slightly. “Because that’s part of who I am. If that’s a problem, I get it. But I’m not changing that.”
Kali’s expression hardened slightly, her arms crossing over her chest. “How are you ever going to have anything serious with someone if you refuse to change the way you two are together?”
Azzi shrugged. “I’ll cross that bridge when I get there.”
What Azzi didn’t say, though, was the truth buried deep in her chest—the truth she never admitted to anyone. She already knew where she’d end up. She knew Paige was the one she’d eventually take seriously. They both knew it, even if they didn’t say it out loud. That was the plan: give themselves time. Time to be young, to experience other people, to live a little before stepping into something that would consume them both.
But Azzi was certain. It would always be Paige.
Kali sighed. “When you said casual girlfriends, you meant it, huh?”
Azzi leaned back against the headboard, her lips quirking up slightly as she hummed in response, offering no further explanation.
Kali got the hint. She stood, smoothing her shirt and offering Azzi a small smile. “Alright. Well, I’ll let you get some sleep.”
“Thanks,” Azzi murmured, already sliding back down under the covers. “I’ll text you later.”
Kali nodded and let herself out, the door clicking shut softly behind her.
Azzi exhaled deeply, staring up at the ceiling for a moment before letting her eyes drift shut.
…
Things like that continued for a while—Paige and Azzi, stuck in each other’s orbit, getting closer with every passing day. Each interaction carried a little more weight, a little more intensity, and each time, it was harder for one of them to back away. Their words were more suggestive now, even in front of others. The team had noticed too, making bets on when the two would finally stop dancing around each other. They’d dubbed it “the finish line,” one night and no one believed it was far off.
Right now, though, Paige, Ice, KK, and Kehlani were crammed in Paige’s car, parked in the lot outside of Crumbl. The car smelled like cookies and laughter filled the small space as they did a “review” of the new flavors on Ice’s TikTok Live.
Ice sat up front next to Paige, her sore knee propped up as she balanced a cookie box on her lap. Kehlani and KK shared the backseat, KK practically bouncing with excitement as she waved around a piece of the new S’mores flavor.
“Ya’ll, this one is insane,” KK yelled, breaking off a piece and leaning forward to shove it toward Paige’s face. “P boogers you gotta try this!”
Paige chuckled, keeping one hand on the wheel even though the car wasn’t moving. “KK, I’m driving. Can you not?”
Ice glanced at her and snorted. “First of all, you’re parked. Plus, the comments are saying you need to give your official take.”
Paige groaned, finally turning toward KK and taking the piece of cookie with an exaggerated eye roll. “Fine. Gimme.”
KK grinned victoriously and leaned forward, scrolling through the TikTok comments. “They’re saying the S’mores one is the best so far, but someone just called the Churro flavor a ‘sleeper hit.’ Thoughts?”
Paige chewed thoughtfully before swallowing. “Okay, yeah, S’mores is cool, but I’m team Churro on this one.”
As Paige finished her sentence, KK’s eyes widened as she leaned toward Ice’s phone. “Azzi’s in the chat!”
Ice immediately perked up, glancing at her phone screen and smirking. “Azzi! Boo! Why didn’t you come with us?” she said, dragging out the words in mock disappointment.
“Lame,” KK added, her voice loud and dramatic. “BOOOOO!”
Paige chuckled, shaking her head. “Yeah, you’re boring, Az. Can’t even show up for cookies?”
Kehlani stayed quiet in the backseat, but her eyes flicked toward Paige, noting the way her tone softened just slightly when she said Azzi’s name.
A moment later, a new comment popped up on the live. Azzi’s verification checkmark made her words stand out, and Ice read them out loud: “I’m not boring, Paige.”
Paige laughed, her eyes lighting up as she leaned closer to Ice’s phone. “Sure you’re not. What’re you doing right now, then?”
KK nudged Ice whispering. “She really out here having a one-on-one convo like the rest of us don’t exist.”
Ice snorted, but Paige ignored them, waiting for Azzi’s next reply. It didn’t take long.
“Just laying down,” Azzi wrote in the chat.
Paige grinned, shaking her head. “See? BORING. What’d I say?”
Another comment quickly popped up: “I’m recovering from practice, Paige. Some of us are human and don’t have unlimited energy.”
“Excuses,” Paige shot back, laughing. “I think you just wanted to miss out on all the good cookies. KK, pass me the Snickerdoodle.”
KK handed Paige the cookie but pointed dramatically at the screen. “Azzi, if you’re seeing this, they’re roasting you in the comments, too. One of them just said, ‘Azzi’s too cool to eat cookies with them.”
Paige tilted her head, reading another comment that Azzi wrote. “I’m not too cool for cookies. But Paige never saves me any, so why bother?”
The live erupted in “oohs” from the chat, and Paige’s jaw dropped. “First of all, I always save you something.”
Azzi’s response popped up almost immediately. “Lies. Where’s my cookie, then?”
Paige rolled her eyes, smirking. “I’ll bring you a cookie later. You’re lucky I’m nice.”
“Only to me,” Azzi wrote.
Ice and KK exchanged a knowing look, both laughing under their breath. Ice leaned forward, resting her elbow on the center console. “Yo, she’s bold for that one.”
KK smirked. “I think they forget this isn’t a private conversation.”
Meanwhile, Kehlani had fully reclined in her seat, scrolling through her phone and making no attempt to engage.
Paige read the comment aloud, her smile tugging at the corners of her lips. “That’s ‘cause you are my favorite person, Az.” Her voice carried that teasing, flirty tone she didn’t bother hiding anymore.
The live chat immediately blew up:
“PAIGE WHAT?!”
“She really said it!”
“This is the content we needed!”
Azzi’s response came almost instantly. “Your favorite person? Then why am I at home while you’re out eating cookies without me?”
Paige laughed, breaking off a piece of the S’mores cookie. “This is for you, Azzi. See?” She held it up to Ice’s phone, angling the camera toward it. “Consider yourself taken care of now.”
KK leaned in dramatically, her mouth hovering near the cookie. “I’m about to eat this for her since she didn’t show up.”
Azzi’s reply was short and direct: “KK, touch it and see what happens.”
Ice practically wheezed, clutching her chest. “Not her threatening people in the live chat.”
Paige tilted her head at the camera, grinning as she scrolled to Azzi’s next message before responding out loud. “Then what do you call this?”
Azzi popped back into the chat: “It’s called keeping people in line for you. You’re welcome.”
Paige shook her head, laughing softly. “See, that’s why you’re my favorite.” Her voice dipped slightly, playful but with an undertone that made KK and Ice share another quick glance.
Azzi replied almost immediately: “Say it louder for the people in the back.” The double not lost on Paige.
Paige leaned a little closer to the camera, her grin widening. “Azzi’s my favorite,” she said, dragging out the words in a teasing tone. “Happy now?”
KK threw her hands up. “Alright, we get it! Paige is Azzi’s biggest fan. Moving on…”
But Paige wasn’t done, and neither was Azzi. The next message from Azzi caught Paige off guard: “You should tell me how much you like me later. Maybe in detail.”
Paige’s eyes flicked down at the screen, her lips twitching as she fought back a smile. “Oh, you want details now?” she said, leaning into the moment. “Like what? Should I write it all down for you?”
Ice and KK immediately burst into laughter, KK pointing at the screen. “Bro, Azzi’s got you blushing on live. This going to be everywhere.”
Paige ignored them, her attention locked on the next comment Azzi sent: “I don’t need it written down. You can just show me.”
Her breath hitched for a moment, and she bit the inside of her cheek to keep from fully smiling. “Az, we’re on live. Not FaceTime. Chill.”
The chat went into full chaos mode:
“SHOW HER WHAT???”
“Azzi please, we can’t take this!”
“Paige is GONE.”
KK was practically in tears now.
Paige groaned dramatically, finally tearing her eyes away from the screen. “Azzi, I swear. You’re banned from the next live. You’re worse than Ice.”
Azzi’s last comment appeared on the screen: “You love it.”
Paige chuckled, running a hand through her hair. “Alright, next cookie,” she announced, trying to change the subject. But her cheeks were still tinged pink, and the chat wasn’t letting it go anytime soon.
Paige chuckled, running a hand through her hair. “Alright, next cookie,” she announced, trying to change the subject. But her cheeks were still tinged pink, and it didn’t go unnoticed.
Azzi popped back up in the chat: “You’re cute when you blush, P.”
Paige immediately groaned, her face heating up even more. “Azzi, pleaseee,” she said, unable to hide her smile as she glanced at the screen again.
The chat exploded with chaos:
“AZZI STOP, YOU’RE KILLING US.”
“Ole girl in the back is mad.”
“Just kiss already.”
Azzi wasn’t about to let up as another comment popped up. “Only if you come over later,” she wrote.
Paige shook her head, biting her lip to keep from smiling too much. “Azzi, you’re actually the worst,” she replied, but her tone betrayed how much she was enjoying it.
KK chimed in, pointing at the screen. “I don’t know if you're seeing it but they saying you’re on a leash, P boogers.”
Azzi replied: “You don’t seem to mind when I’m ‘the worst.’”
Paige blinked at the screen not even addressing KK, her laugh low. “Azzi…” she warned, but there was no real threat behind it.
Azzi replied back: “What? Just telling the truth. You like me this way.”
Paige leaned back in her seat, covering her face with one hand, fully laughing now. “You’re unbelievable,” she said through her laughter.
Ice, who had been watching this unfold with growing amusement, nudged Paige’s arm. “You gotta fight back, you’re looking weak on live.”
Paige glanced at Ice, shaking her head, but her smile stayed. She turned back to the camera. “I’m not even entertaining her anymore,” she said, though her blushing cheeks said otherwise.
Azzi’s next message popped up: “Yeah, you will. Later.”
Paige pressed her lips together, struggling not to laugh again, but her blush deepened. Before she could respond, Kehlani, sitting quietly in the back, spoke up, her tone dry and serious. “Oh, why stop now? You might as well just FaceTime her at this point. We’re all here for the show anyway.”
The air in the car shifted. Ice and KK exchanged glances, but the laughter that had been flowing just moments ago came to a halt. Kehlani’s words hung in the air, her eyes fixed on her phone as she spoke.
Paige’s smile faltered slightly, sensing the tension in Kehlani’s voice. She quickly shifted in her seat, her fingers tightening around the steering wheel. “Kehlani, relax,” Paige said softly, but the underlying unease in her voice didn’t go unnoticed.
Azzi’s final comment popped up in the chat: “Just don’t forget my cookie please.”
The chat exploded again, but the playful vibe was gone now. Paige let out a soft laugh at Azzi’s humor, her blush still lingering, but the mood had shifted. “Alright, new flavor, let’s go,” she announced loudly, trying to shift the focus as the car fell into a quieter tension.
…
When the live ended, Kehlani didn’t hold back. She leaned forward in her seat, her eyes narrowing as she stared at Paige through the rearview mirror. “So you’re just openly flirting with her now?”
Paige’s grip on the steering wheel tightened, her knuckles white as she kept her eyes on the road. KK and Ice sat frozen in their seats struggling not to laugh knowing how this was going to end. Paige didn’t want to have this conversation—not here, not now, and definitely not with an audience.
Taking a steadying breath, Paige glanced at the mirror, careful not to meet Kehlani’s gaze. “We can talk about this when we get back,” she said calmly.
Kehlani scoffed, throwing herself back against the seat and crossing her arms tightly over her chest like a child. “Oh, it'll be a lot more yelling than fucking talking,” she muttered, her voice sharp.
Paige’s jaw tightened, the muscle ticking as she clenched her teeth. She didn’t take her eyes off the road but finally responded, her voice laced with warning. “What did I tell you about doing this in front of people?”
Kehlani let out a bitter laugh, her head tilting slightly as she gestured vaguely toward the car. “Oh, but you can flirt with Azzi in front of three thousand people, huh? That’s perfectly fine?”
Paige’s gaze snapped up to meet Kehlani’s through the rearview mirror, her expression hard. “Stop,” she said simply.
For a moment, Kehlani opened her mouth like she was going to say something else, but the sharp look Paige gave her was enough to make her think twice. She pressed her lips together, the silence in the car growing even more as they continued the drive.
When they returned to campus, Paige immediately headed to her room, hoping to avoid any more conflict. Kehlani followed, slamming the door behind her as she stormed in. The tension between them was thick, the unspoken frustration that had been building for days now ready to spill over.
Kehlani didn't waste any time. “If you want to fuck her, just get it over with so you can get it out of your system,” she snapped, her voice filled with bitterness. Paige’s expression immediately hardened. She had been holding her tongue but had so much pent up frustration she didn’t care anymore.
Paige turned to face her, her eyes narrowing. “Watch your fucking mouth Kehlani,” she said, her voice low and full of warning.
Kehlani sneered, crossing her arms. “Oh, so you have a reaction now? I just have to say something about Azzi to get you to finally react, huh?”
Paige rolled her eyes, exasperated. “You’re being ridiculous. I’m not doing this with you.”
Kehlani scoffed, pacing in frustration. “You’re seriously just gonna keep playing it off? Like nothing’s happening between you two? How long do you think you can keep this up before it blows up in your face?”
Paige stayed leaned against her desk, arms crossed over her chest. Her voice was calm when she replied, “Look, I’ve been upfront with you from the beginning. If you want to walk away, do it. I’m not forcing you to stay. I told you from the start this was casual.”
Kehlani whipped around to face her, her tone sharp. “It’s not even casual anymore, Paige. At least back then we’d fuck or something after we argued!”
Paige let out a dry laugh, shaking her head. “Is that what this is about? We don’t fuck anymore?”
Kehlani's jaw tightened, her voice rising with indignation. “Do you even know when the last time we were together was?”
Paige shrugged nonchalantly, unfazed by the question. “Nope. But I’m sure you're going to enlighten me.”
Kehlani stepped closer, her eyes flashing with irritation. “It was after the team went out drinking,” she snapped. “You and Azzi were all over each other all night because you were drunk. And you didn’t even care who saw.”
Paige raised her brows slightly, but she didn’t interrupt.
Kehlani stepped closer, her voice trembling with a mix of anger and frustration. “We argued about it when we got back, and you wanted to shut me up, so you fucked me. That’s the last time, Paige. Do you even care?”
Paige groaned, rubbing her temples. “Lani, I don’t even know what you want me to say right now.”
Kehlani's voice sharpened. “Are you getting it from her now? Is that why?”
Paige let out a long, exasperated sigh. “I’m not fucking Azzi! Jesus Christ!”
Kehlani let out a bitter laugh. “Stop being a coward and admit you want to at least. Just say it.”
Paige froze for a moment, her patience finally snapping. She straightened up, her eyes locking with Kehlani’s. “Alright. Fine. I wanna fuck Azzi. Is that what you wanna hear?”
Kehlani blinked, momentarily stunned but unwilling to back down. “Say it again, Paige. Say it like you fucking mean it.”
Paige scoffed, shaking her head. “You’re fucking crashing right now bro.”
But Kehlani stood firm like she always does, crossing her arms. “No, Paige. Say it. Don’t half-ass it. I want to hear you say it.”
Paige’s frustration boiled over, and her voice rose as she snapped. “Yes, I want to fuck Azzi! I want to fuck her every time I look at her!”
Kehlani raised an eyebrow, unmoved. “Keep going.”
“What?” Paige snapped, incredulous.
“You’ve been a coward this whole time. You finally grew a spine—don’t stop now. Keep going. What else?” Kehlani’s voice dripped with venom.
Paige leaned forward, her voice escalating, almost shouting now as she spoke her mind but wanted to shut Kehlani up in the process. “I think about doing the nastiest shit you can imagine to her, okay? Is that what you’re deranged ass wanted to hear? Is that good enough for you now?”
Kehlani smirked, clapping her hands together slowly, the sound cutting through the tension. “Fucking finally. There it is. At least now we’re finally being honest.”
Paige glared at her. “Fuck you, Kehlani,” she spat.
Kehlani snorted, shaking her head as she turned toward the door. “Nah, Paige. You’re saving that for Azzi, right?”
Ironically, as the words left her mouth, the door swung open, and Azzi walked in, her eyebrows furrowing at the scene in front of her.
Kehlani chuckled darkly, shaking her head as if the situation was some cruel joke she was in on.
Azzi’s gaze bounced between the two of them, her tone cautious as she took in Paige’s demeanor. “Uh... should I go P?”
Paige’s entire demeanor shifted the second she saw Azzi, the hard edges of her anger softening, though her tension was still noticeable. “No, Az,” she said quietly, her voice noticeably softer. “It’s fine. We’re done.”
Kehlani scoffed, her laugh sharp and bitter. “Oh no we’re not done, but you should stay,” she said, gesturing to the room. “Come enjoy the show. Paige was just telling me all about how much she thinks about fucking you. Weren’t you, Paige?”
Azzi didn’t flinch. Her expression tightened as she looked at Kehlani, but there was no shock in her eyes.
Paige didn’t say anything, her jaw tightening.
Kehlani wasn’t done, stepping closer, her arms crossed as her voice dripped with sarcasm. “What? Too shy to say it now? You weren’t shy five minutes ago. Go ahead, Paige. Tell her.”
Paige’s eyes darkened as her patience snapped. “Kehlani, shut the fuck up.”
Kehlani laughed coldly, tilting her head. “What, you can’t tell her? Can’t tell her how you were just talking about all the nasty shit you want to do to her? Go on, Paige. Please don’t stop now.”
Paige took a step forward, her voice low. “We’re done, Kehlani. Get the hell out.”
Kehlani stared at her for a moment, a cruel smirk tugging at her lips before she turned to Azzi. “Just a warning,” she said, her voice light but toxic. “She gets a little rough when she’s upset.”
With that, she walked out, the door clicking shut behind her, leaving an almost deafening silence in her wake.
Azzi stayed rooted in place, her eyes locked on Paige, who was visibly trying to hold herself together, her shoulders tense and her jaw clenched. Azzi’s brow furrowed in concern as she cautiously stepped closer. She reached out, her fingers brushing against Paige’s hand as if to ground her. “Paige,” she said gently, “Talk to me. What’s going on in your head right now?”
Paige took a deep breath, the sound shaky as she stared at the floor for a moment. Then she met Azzi’s gaze, her eyes were dark with a look Azzi hadn’t seen before. “Az, you need to leave,” Paige said, her voice low and rough. “If you don’t, I’m going to do something we’ll regret.”
It wasn’t a plea; it was a warning.
The air between them grew heavier, the tension almost suffocating. Paige’s frustration and anger were palpable—every argument with Kehlani, every unresolved feeling about Azzi, every ounce of sexual tension she’d been bottling up for weeks—it all felt like it was seconds away from exploding. She couldn’t think straight, couldn’t breathe.
But Azzi didn’t step back. Instead, she tilted her head slightly, her lips curling into the faintest hint of a smile. “Do it then,” she said softly, her voice carrying a challenge she hadn’t fully thought through.
The second the words left her mouth, Azzi realized she should’ve thought about it a little more.
But Paige’s reaction was immediate, almost primal. Her hand shot up, wrapping firmly around Azzi’s neck as she pushed her back against the wall with a force that sent a picture frame rattling. Azzi gasped softly, her wide eyes searching Paige’s for a split second before Paige leaned in, her lips crashing against hers in a kiss that was rough, hungry, and completely consuming.
Azzi’s initial surprise melted into something deeper, her body responding instinctively as her hands grabbed at Paige’s waist, pulling her closer. Paige’s grip on Azzi’s neck tightened as she deepened the kiss, her desire building as she couldn’t get enough of Azzi. Each brush of their lips, each shift in their embrace sent a pulse of heat through Paige’s body. She was losing herself in the moment, in the touch, in the taste of Azzi.
The kiss wasn’t gentle or careful—it was unapologetically passionate. It was everything they had been holding back for years, all the longing, all the frustration, all the stolen moments finally manifesting. Azzi could feel Paige’s hunger, the intensity in every movement. She could feel Paige’s breath against her skin, could feel the heat in her hand as it gripped her neck, holding her in place with a possessive energy that sent shivers down Azzi’s spine.
Azzi’s hands squeezed Paige’s hips, urging her closer, pulling her against the heat of her body. She loved the way Paige’s fingers tightened around her neck, the way Paige’s body moved against hers with a sense of urgency, as though they were both starving. The aggression, the way Paige was pushing her into the wall—it felt exhilarating, freeing. Azzi had always known Paige had it in her, but now that it was happening, she could hardly believe it.
The world outside the room, outside this moment, ceased to exist. It was just them. Paige’s hand, warm and possessive around her neck, the way she kissed Azzi like she was afraid she might disappear if she didn’t hold on tight enough—Azzi was completely intoxicated by it. She wanted more, needed more, and with every passing second she was reminded that this was everything they’d been denying for so long.
Paige’s breath hitched as she pulled Azzi’s hair roughly, exposing more of her neck. Azzi gasped at the feeling, a mix of surprise and excitement flashing in her eyes. Paige’s grip tightened on Azzi’s hair, pushing her head back more as she traced her lips down the sensitive skin of Azzi’s neck.
Paige's lips were messy, marking every inch of her neck. She could feel the heat radiating off Azzi’s body as she kissed her harder, deeper, moving against her with an intensity neither of them had expected for their first time. When she pulled back for a moment, her voice was rough, the question slipping out without a second thought.
“You aren’t cheating, right?” Paige asked.
Azzi nodded quickly, her hands grabbing at Paige’s, urging her back to her neck. “No," she whispered, "I’m not.”
Azzi’s words were barely heard before Paige tugged harder on her hair, guiding her back, her lips attacking Azzi’s neck again. Paige’s hands gripped Azzi’s body tighter, not letting go, as if marking every inch of her skin as her own.
Azzi melted into it, her body arching toward Paige’s, having craved the roughness for so long, the need that was building between them.
Before Azzi could even process what was happening, Paige’s hands were at the back of her thighs, lifting her effortlessly off the ground. The strength in Paige’s grip made Azzi's heart race, and she couldn’t help but feel a rush of pride that Paige’s athleticism was coming into play at the moment. She wrapped her legs around Paige’s waist instinctively, pulling her closer, the kiss deepening as Paige’s hands roamed over her butt with desperation.
Azzi could feel everything building, the need between them undeniable. Paige didn’t pause, didn't even hesitate, as she walked them over to the desk. Azzi’s breath hitched when she felt the edge of the desk press against the backs of her thighs, and Paige, without breaking the kiss, placed her gently yet firmly on top of it knocking a few things over as she did so.
Azzi gasped, her hands grabbing at Paige’s shoulders to steady herself. She didn’t know what was more exciting—the feeling of Paige’s body pressed against hers, the heat radiating between them, or the way she was being handled.
Paige pulled back slightly, her gaze dark, filled with an intensity Azzi had never witnessed before. Azzi was breathless, her body humming, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she looked up at Paige, waiting for whatever came next.
Paige’s eyes never left Azzi’s as she spoke. “Take off your shirt.”
There was something in the way Paige said it—something possessive and undeniably intense—that made Azzi swallow hard. She felt the weight of the command settle into her chest, her heart hammering in her ears as her breath caught.
Without hesitation, Azzi pulled her shirt over her head, feeling a shiver run through her as she caught Paige’s gaze, the hunger in her usual soft blue eyes making her pulse quicken. Azzi knew it was different now. This wasn’t the teasing, the slow build-up. This was something primal and she was willingly volunteering herself for it.
She let the fabric fall to the floor, her hands shaking slightly but not from fear—more from the anticipation. Every muscle in her body was tuned to Paige, waiting for her next move, her next command. In that moment, she didn’t want anything more than to be exactly what Paige wanted.
Paige's hands moved quickly, pulling Azzi's hips forward just enough so she could stand between her legs, their bodies barely apart but still aching for more.
Without warning, Paige grabbed Azzi by the neck, her grip firm, pulling her into another kiss that was desperate and unrestrained. The urgency in the kiss was undeniable, a silent plea for release as Paige's body pressed into Azzi's. Paige was fighting to control herself, to not be aggressive as she could be, but the tension inside her was too much-every muscle, every nerve, was on fire with the need to close the gap between them.
Her lips moved hungrily against Azzi's, breathing in the taste of her like it was the only thing that could calm the desperate ache inside. Paige's hands gripped Azzi's sides, her fingers digging in as if she might never let go, as if this moment was the only thing that mattered. Their breaths mingled, heavy and fast, as Paige pressed closer, her chest brushing against Azzi's, the heat between them only amplifying the intensity of the kiss.
Azzi's hands slid to the back of Paige's neck, pulling her deeper, her body arching toward Paige's.
Paige yanked Azzi's head back again, her grip tight as she started to assault Azzi’s neck again. The raw tension between them was undeniable. But then, Azzi let out a soft moan at the feeling, a sound that was so sudden, so unfiltered, that it stopped Paige in her tracks.
It wasn't just a sound. It was a plea, a release that vibrated through the space between them, and when it escaped Azzi's lips, it shattered Paige's control. The way it rang in the air, the desperate vulnerability in it. Paige's jaw tightened, her whole body going rigid.
She pulled back quickly, struggling to catch her breath. Paige clenched her jaw desperately trying to hold on to whatever semblance of self control she had left. But she was failing. Without a word, she turned away, her steps almost urgent as she walked toward the closet.
"Take everything off," Paige's voice was rough.
Paige reached into the closet, her fingers brushing over a few bags, before pulling out a sealed box that she began taking to plastic off of.
Azzi didn't hesitate. She undressed quickly, following Paige's command without a second thought. Every movement was fluid, driven by a mix of anticipation and the sharp heat that still pulsed between them.
As soon as she was bare, she walked over to the desk, sitting back on it, the cool surface pressing against her skin, contrasting with the heat radiating off of her.
She watched Paige intently, her eyes tracing every movement as Paige got completely undressed before stepping into a harness and adjusting it.
Paige's every action was deliberate, her fingers brushing against the fabric, pulling at it slowly to make sure everything was in place as her eyes raked over Azzi’s body as she did it.
Something about the sight has more pooling between Azzi’s legs. Paige is scarily calm right now which terrifies and excites Azzi at the same time.
As Paige walked toward Azzi slowly, her gaze never left brown eyes. When she reached her, she leaned in just enough to let her voice drop low. "You wanna feel me, Az?" Her words were a tease, full of promise, and the way they hung in the air made Azzi's heart skip.
Azzi nodded, almost too quickly, her throat suddenly dry. She didn't trust herself to speak—her body ached with a need for Paige and Paige only.
Paige's lips curved into a smile as she reached up, brushing her thumb across Azzi's lip. The touch was soft and gentle, yet somehow possessive, and without thinking, Azzi parted her lips and took it into her mouth.
She sucked it in slowly, her eyes never leaving Paige's as she swirled her tongue, feeling the heat of Paige's gaze searing her skin.
Paige watched her intently, savoring the sight, before sliding her thumb out of Azzi's mouth. She dragged it slowly down her jaw, the pads of her fingers tracing lightly across her skin before finally resting at Azzis center where she began to trace small agonizingly slow circles against Azzi.
Azzi's breath hitched, her jaw tightening as the circles only further deepened the ache in her stomach. Each movement, each second that passed, stretched the tension unbearably, the pressure building in her chest. The way Paige took her time, making every second feel like an eternity, had Azzi biting down on her lip to keep from reacting too loudly.
Paige's thumb circled lazily along Azzi's center, her touch soft. She was watching closely for every little reaction: the sharp, ragged inhale, the subtle tremor in Azzi's body, the way her lips would part as she tried to hold in the sounds threatening to slip out. Each moment, each subtle movement, felt like an eternity as she pieced together what Azzi loved like it was the easiest puzzle in the world.
Azzi's breath caught as Paige pushed against her a little harder, her eyes fluttering closed involuntarily. Paige's eyes darkened as she saw the way Azzi tried to bite down harder, a silent battle the girl was having to remain quiet for some reason. Paige couldn't help but chuckle a little at this.
"You know it's not going to matter in a few minutes, right?" Paige's voice was calm as she said it, but there was a bit of an edge to it, a silent promise to Azzi that she wouldn’t be able to stay quiet even if she tried. Still, she continued her slow, torturous circles, watching for the breaking point.
Azzi opened her glossed over eyes, meeting Paige's gaze. Her voice was barely a whisper, but there was a challenge to it. "You like to hear it?"
Paige nodded, her breath shallow. "Of course." The simple words hung in the air, full of desire.
It was as if Azzi had been holding her breath, saving it for this exact moment. Not two seconds later, the sound escaped her lips-a soft, almost angelic moan. The sound was almost too beautiful for how quiet it was.
It was enough for Paige to not want to wait anymore wanting to hear so much more spill from Azzi’s lips.
So she swipes the top of the strap against Azzi a few times to make sure she’s ready for it before she’s pressing forward, sliding in halfway before pausing to make sure she’s ok and giving her some time to adjust.
“Oh fuck-“ Azzi immediately gasps at the feeling pulling Paige’s closer to her by her shoulders.
Leaning over her a little now Paige begins slowly rolling her hips careful not to go in all the way yet.
Paige mumbles against Azzi’s neck where she’s planting kisses and sucking on the already marked skin. “Does that feel good pretty?” As Paige says this her fingers tangle in Azzi’s hair tugging at it to expose more of her neck as she continues working in and out of her.
“Mhmm yes—feels…feels so fucking good. Oh fuck.” Azzi’s face twists slightly as Paige pushes all the way in hitting somewhere deep in her stomach.
Paige reaches down with her free hand to rub circles against Azzi again as she picks up the pace of her hips.
With every movement, Azzi whimpers. The breathy noises music to Paige’s ears, urging her on. Paige pushes Azzi’s legs further apart, eventually making her wrap her legs around her waist as the new position allows her to work deeper into Azzi.
Azzi who’s never felt anything like this whimpers out “Fuck yes…gimme more Paige…harder please baby” her moans getting louder as she grasps at the shelf behind her trying to find anything to anchor herself.
Paige immediately obliges to the request grabbing Azzi’s waist pulling her into her more as she works in and out of her at a faster pace.
Azzi smiles at this for a second before her jaw drops as she fights to keep her eyes locked on Paige.
Paige feels like she can come undone just by the look on Azzi’s face. The way her brown eyes are locked on Paige’s blue ones, struggling to keep her breath makes Paige fall in love with her all over again.
Paige moves herself closer to Azzi so she can whisper in her ear. “Mhm you so fucking pretty taking it like this baby...you like it when I fuck you like this Azzi?”
"Yes- fuck... Yes I love it so much—" Azzi’s arms wrap around Paige’s shoulders, her nails digging into her pale skin as the blonde moves into her at an unreasonable pace making her see stars.
Paige groans at the feeling of Azzi’s nails digging into her as she rests her forehead on her shoulder.
Azzi continues gasping, her breathing sharp as she tightens her hold on Paige anchoring herself to something real. Her chest rising and falling in quick succession, pulse hammering in her ears, drowning out everything but the feeling of Paige inside her.
"Shit…I've wanted this for so long," Azzi whispered, her voice trembling.
Paige pulled back from Azzi’s shoulder to rest their foreheads together. Their breaths mingled, hot and unsteady, as they locked eyes, both panting at Paige’s movements.
Paige's lips curled into a slow smile, her voice low and a little breathy, laced with a possessiveness that makes Azzi weak. "Tell me what you mean, baby."
Azzi's heart fluttered at the sound of Paige’s voice. Her entire body seemed to hum with the weight of the question. She closed her eyes for a moment, gathering the fragments of herself, feeling her body continue to pulse at Paige who hasn’t slowed down for a second. Her hands move to Paige's face, fingers trembling as they cup her jaw, bringing her closer, as if she couldn't get enough of the warmth, of the weight of Paige's presence.
"I've wanted you to fuck me just like this," Azzi panted, the words spilling out in a rush. “Touched myself thinking about how you would feel.” Her grip tightened, nails gently grazing Paige's skin who has slowed her movements easing all of it in and out at a steady pace.
Paige's smile deepened as she looked at Azzi, her voice dripping with something almost dangerous, like she knew exactly what Azzi needed. "It's all mine, baby?" Her lips barely moved as she whispered them.
Azzi's breath hitched, her whole body answering the question before her words could as she felt something pool on the desk under her.
She nodded, forehead pressing against Paige's, her eyes rolling back as she gave in to the overwhelming flood of emotions.
"Use your words for me, baby," Paige murmured, a soft pressure against Azzi's jaw, urging her, coaxing the confession out.
Azzi swallowed hard, her pulse thrumming in her throat, before she finally gave in to the truth of it all, letting it tumble out in a breathless confession. "It's yours, Paige. Fuck yes, it's all yours baby."
Azzi's hands are steady on Paige's face, her fingers tracing the soft line of her jaw. The heat radiating between them is undeniable now, but it's not just physical-it's everything they've been holding back. Azzi’s legs are still wrapped around Paige’s waist, their bodies pressed together, the only space between them the shared breaths that are only becoming more ragged.
The world outside them has faded completely. All that's left is the sound of their hearts racing, the intensity of their eyes locked in a silent battle. But Azzi can feel it. She can feel Paige's jaw tighten under her fingers, feel Paige's slight hesitation to speak.
"Say it, baby," Azzi breathes out, voice rough, pleading. The words hang between them, as she dares Paige to cross the line they've been dancing around for so long. The unspoken truth that neither has allowed themselves to fully acknowledge-until now.
Paige's jaw tightens more, her mind fighting against the pull of the confession. She knows, deep down, that once she says the words, there's no taking them back. No turning away from what it means. Her eyes search Azzi's, a mix of fear, longing, and something else-something so much deeper. Azzi's brown eyes are full of hope, desperation, and a promise.
Azzi leans in closer, her breath catching in her throat. "Please... Paige..." she whimpers, as though the words might shatter if she says them too loud. "Say it. Please. I need to hear it baby.”
For a heartbeat, Paige hesitates. But having Azzi like this completely bare for her taking everything she’s giving her makes something stir in Paige. The fear, the uncertainty, melts away. She licks her lips slowly, never breaking Azzi's gaze, and the words come out like a release, a truth finally allowed to breathe.
"I love you, Azzi," Paige whispers, keeping her voice low. "I fucking love you." Paige says again as she rolls her hips into Azzi perfectly. The words feel almost foreign on her tongue, but they taste right. They feel like everything she's been holding back for so long, all the quiet moments, the stolen glances, the touch that said more than words ever could.
Azzi's breath hitches, her eyes going wide not just from the feeling of Paige hitting deep inside of her but from hearing those words fall from her lips for the first time the combination of them both leaving her breathless.
She can barely hold back the rush of emotion that crashes over her. "I love you so fucking much, Paige," she murmurs, her voice breaking on the edge of the confession. It's everything she's wanted to say to Paige since they were teenagers.
Azzi's fingers trace Paige's face gently, her heart pounding as if it might burst from her chest. "I love you," she whispers again, this time, the words are like a devotion to Paige.
Paige presses her forehead to Azzi's, her lips just inches away, her breath mingling with Azzi's. She could lose herself in this moment forever. "I love you so much Azzi," she breathes, her voice full of everything she's kept locked away.
Paige can feel herself building at Azzi’s words, the weight of the moment, the way the harness was rubbing against her. She doesn’t think she’s ever felt this turned on before, she’s never felt this pull in her stomach from just fucking somebody else.
Before Paige embarrassingly comes undone before Azzi she’s pulling out completely causing Azzi to immediately whine at the feeling as she looks up at Paige with desperation.
Paige didn’t give Azzi a chance to say anything before she was lifting her off the desk.
Without missing a beat, Paige walks over and gently lays Azzi down on her back on the bed hovering over her as she locks eyes with her.
Paige whispers out. “Wanna feel all of you when you finish for me.”
Azzi hums at this, pulling her bottom lip between her teeth as she looks at Paige. Her fingers threading through Paige’s messy hair.
Without saying anything Paige presses back inside of Azzi completely making her arch off of the bed letting out an almost pornographic sound. Paige leans down pressing sloppy kisses to Azzi’s chest leaving new marks further down as she starts rolling her hips into her again.
Azzi’s mouth falls open at the feeling, her body picking up right where it left off a few seconds ago. Paige’s eyes hold Azzi’s as she wraps her hand around her throat again squeezing just tight enough causing a whimper to fall from Azzi as she flutters her eyes closed at the way Paige is controlling the situation.
Not liking that she can’t see Azzi’s eyes anymore Paige whispers out “Look at me Azzi baby.”
Azzi's eyes immediately flutter open, the command in Paige's voice making her head spin. Her gaze locks onto Paige's, but her vision is hazy, her eyes watering at the spot Paige is hitting over and over.
Paige smiles, it’s a knowing grin, as if she knows exactly what she’s doing to Azzi and she shakes her head as if to tell Azzi it's not time to break yet.
"No, not yet sweetheart," Paige murmurs, her fingers tightened against Azzi's throat like a warning.
Azzi's throat tightens as she tries to speak to break the tension, but her voice falters.
She shifts beneath Paige, her head trying to turn to the side, desperate for some escape from the intensity of the moment. But before she can move too far Paige tightens her hold to keep her in place.
"Don’t look away from me when i’m talking to you Azzi” Paige's voice is calm, but there's an edge to it now, making Azzi's breath hitch in her throat as she nods.
At this Paige takes her hand off of Azzi throat and moves it down to her stomach where she presses down slightly feeling every thrust.
Azzi immediately moans at the pressure as she locks her ankles around Paige’s back not allowing any room between them.
"Mm- fuck, Paige. I’m so close. Don’t stop…please, don't stop just like that." Words are just tumbling out of Azzi now as she wraps her arms around Paige’s shoulder holding her against her completely as Paige picks up her pace to something almost ruthless.
Azzi’s hand immediately tangles in her hair trying to pull Paige closer as she sucks on her pressure point.
Paige brings her hand up, carefully interlocking it with one of Azzi's that isn’t tangled in her hair, her breath warm against Azzi's neck as she mumbles, "I'm so close, baby." Azzi nods in response not able to form a words, her legs tightening around Paige's waist, pulling her even closer.
All that leaves Azzi’s lips are whimpers and moans as Paige moves into her. Paige keeps her pace until Azzi’s body starts to tremble under her and she feels the movements get a little harder as Azzi tightens.
“Ohmygodohmygod…fuck..fuck” Azzi screams her fingers tightening in Paige’s hair as she releases all over the sheets. Paige squeezes their interlaced hands as she keeps moving, still chasing her own release, mumbling out, “Hold on baby I’m right there.”
Despite her sensitivity Azzi presses her heels into Paige’s back pulling her closer and not long after Paige is groaning out a “oh shit..fuck Az..fuckfuck” before she’s slumping on top of Azzi.
The room is filled with the sound of their breathing, both of them lying there, skin still warm and sticky, bodies tangled together in the aftermath. For a moment, neither of them moved, as if both of them were trying to process the intensity of what had just happened. It was different, undeniably so. Different than any other time with anyone else. This wasn’t just physical.
After some time of laying there, Paige shifted slightly, her lips brushing against Azzi’s shoulder. “Imma pull out now, okay?” she murmured, her voice soft and low.
Azzi’s hands shot up to grab Paige’s shoulders, halting her immediately. Paige froze, lifting her head to meet Azzi’s gaze. There was something almost pleading in her eyes, a vulnerability Paige hadn’t seen before.
“Not yet,” Azzi whispered, her voice barely above a breath.
Paige smiles as she gazes down at her. “Can you keep going?” she asked, her tone laced with both amusement and awe.
Azzi nodded, her breath catching as her hands slid down Paige’s back. “Yeah,” she admitted, her cheeks flushing. “I just... I don’t want this to end yet.”
Paige chuckled softly, leaning down to press a lingering kiss to Azzi’s lips. “You’re something else, Az,” she said against her mouth, her voice warm.
Azzi smirked faintly, her hands curling into Paige’s skin. “Yeah, and you love it,” she shot back, though her voice trembled slightly when Paige adjusted her hips.
Paige didn’t deny it. Instead, she shifted, one of her hands trailing slowly down Azzi’s side. “Alright,” Paige murmured, her lips grazing Azzi’s jaw before trailing down to her neck again. “Guess I better make it worth your while.”
Azzi’s laugh turned into a quiet gasp as Paige started to move again, her hands gripping Azzi's hips as she eased her back into it. But then Azzi couldn’t help the soft chuckle that escaped her, the sound muffled behind her hand. Paige paused slightly, raising a brow.
“What’s funny?” Paige asked, her voice low, breath still hot against Azzi’s neck.
Azzi shook her head, though the grin on her face betrayed her amusement. “It’s just—” she laughed softly again, tilting her head back slightly to meet Paige’s curious eyes. “Your cross necklace. It’s just... dangling there. Right in my face.”
Paige looked down and noticed the small silver cross swaying between them. She couldn’t help the laugh that bubbled out of her. “Yeah, that’s probably not the vibe right now,” she muttered.
Azzi smirked, clearly enjoying the irony. “It’s definitely a choice,” she teased, her breath hitching as Paige’s fingers tightened against her skin.
“Alright,” Paige said, grinning as she moved her hand to Azzi’s chin, tilting her head slightly. “How about I fix that for you?”
Before Azzi could respond, Paige pulled out and flipped her over with an effortless motion, Azzi’s stomach now against the bed. Paige hovered over her, her cross now out of Azzi’s sight. Paige leaned down, her lips brushing against Azzi’s ear. “Better?”
Azzi swallowed hard, her smirk faltering as Paige’s hand slid back to her waist. “Yeah,” she breathed, her voice suddenly softer. “Much better.”
Paige chuckled, her lips trailing slowly down Azzi’s jaw. “Good,” she murmured. “Now stop laughing and focus, Az.”
Azzi smiled faintly, but her next laugh dissolved into a sharp inhale as Paige reminded her exactly what kind of focus she meant.
…
Later that night, Paige and Azzi lay side by side, their shoulders brushing, hands intertwined as the quiet of the room settled around them. The adrenaline had long worn off, leaving them in a haze of warmth and exhaustion.
Azzi let out a soft laugh, her thumb brushing over the back of Paige’s hand. “I need a shower,” she murmured, breaking the silence.
Paige’s eyes were half-closed, her voice barely above a mumble as she replied, “Same.”
Azzi turned her head slightly, glancing at Paige with a teasing smile. “You’re actually disgusting,” she joked.
Paige cracked one eye open, the corner of her mouth twitching into a lazy grin. “You loved it,” she fired back, her voice low and raspy but filled with clear amusement.
Azzi laughed again. “Unfortunately,” she said, shaking her head dramatically, “you might be right.”
Paige gave a low chuckle, squeezing Azzi’s hand gently. “Might be? C’mon, Az. Own it.”
Azzi rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide the smile tugging at her lips. “Fine. I loved it. Happy?”
“Very,” Paige murmured, her voice already trailing off into something quieter as her head tilted toward Azzi’s.
They stayed like that for a while, the silence between them comfortable, the warmth of their connection lingering in the air. Paige stared up at the ceiling, her breathing finally even as her thumb absently traced circles against the back of Azzi’s hand.
“Wait,” Paige started, her voice soft but curious. “What happened to Kali?”
Azzi, who was half-drifting into sleep, let out a quiet laugh. “She was sitting next to me when you were on live,” she said simply, her tone amused.
Paige chuckled, shaking her head as she glanced over at Azzi. “Yeah, that tracks.”
Azzi gave Paige’s hand another squeeze, her voice softer now, as though she didn’t want to disturb the moment too much. “So?” she asked, her words a quiet nudge, a question hanging between them.
Paige turned her head to look at her, her expression calm. “So,” she echoed, meeting Azzi’s eyes. “I love you, and you love me.” She paused, her lips twitching into a faint smile. “So… we’re going to do this?”
Azzi studied her for a beat, her own smile forming slowly but surely. She nodded, her gaze steady. “Yeah, I think we are.”
Paige’s lips curved fully now, her hand tightening slightly around Azzi’s. “Yeah. I think so too.”
Azzi’s smile grew wider at that, something soft and unspoken passing between them as she shifted a little closer, her shoulder brushing Paige’s. “Good,” she said quietly, her voice almost a whisper.
…
When Paige and Azzi finally mustered the energy to get up and head to the shower, they didn’t expect to be greeted by half the team. Unfortunately for them, the door opened just as KK, Aubrey, and Jana barged in, looking for snacks or whatever excuse they’d come up with to snoop once Paige and Azzi gave signs of life in the team group chat suspiciously at the same time.
The room fell silent for a split second before KK’s jaw dropped dramatically. “Girl, boo! Y’all were supposed to wait one more week!” she yelled, throwing her hands up like they had committed some unforgivable betrayal.
Meanwhile, Aubrey punched the air in celebration. “Let’s gooo! I told y’all!”
Paige groaned, scrubbing her hand down her face. “You bet on us?” she asked, her voice exasperated but not surprised.
Aubrey grinned, shameless. “Of course we did! Do you know how obvious y’all have been? And I knew I’d win..”
Jana, always the blunt one, crossed her arms and looked between Paige and Azzi. “Y’all are gross,” she said, though the smile tugging at her lips betrayed her words. “Like, really. You couldn’t wait even a little longer?”
Paige rolled her eyes, leaning against the doorframe. “Y’all done?”
Azzi, on the other hand, was struggling to keep her laughter at bay as she wrapped an arm around Paige’s waist. “Alright, out. We have a shower to get to, and unlike y’all, we don’t have bet debts to settle.”
KK smirked, raising a brow. “A shower, huh? Together?”
Paige pointed toward the door, her expression flat. “Goodbye, KK.”
Laughing, the group finally started to file out, with Aubrey grinning at Paige on her way out. “Congrats, by the way. About time y’all stopped torturing yourselves.”
As the door clicked shut behind them, Paige let out a long sigh, her head dropping to Azzi’s shoulder. “I swear, I’m not leaving this room for a week.”
Azzi chuckled, pressing a kiss to the side of Paige’s head. “It’s gonna take more than a week for all this to go away.”

second chances
mob boss!lando norris x reader

part one: wrong place, wrong time
word count: 1.3k
warnings: graphic descriptions of violence, shock, murder, blood, fear, shooting
one | two | three
The alley was a narrow pathway carved between two aged apartment buildings, the flickering neon light of a broken liquor store sign barely illuminating the space, casting long shadows on the ground. The stench of damp asphalt and stale trash clung to the air, mingling with something coppery and sharp — something she couldn’t quite put her finger on.
She had been walking home, keeping her head down with a single headphone plugged in—never two. With a canvas tote bag pulled up to her shoulder, she held the bulk of its weight closer to her body, eager to speed up the process of getting home. She knew better than to linger in this part of town. The rent was cheap for a reason.
But then—the slightest scuffling sound had made her pause, just for a moment.
Was someone there?
Turning her head sharply in the direction of the sound, she spotted the shifting shadows spilling from the end of an upcoming alleyway. Probably just the homeless guy or something, she brushed off.
Content to continue on her way, she resumed walking when she heard a sharp thwack! coming from the same direction.
What the fuck?
Carefully, her silent footsteps began to approach the mouth of the alleyway, careful not to crunch loose gravel beneath the rubber of her sneakers. Inching closer to the edge of the wall, she pressed herself flat against the side of it, straining to make out what was going on from her limited vantage point.
In the dim embers of the blue neon lighting on the other side of the alleyway, she could roughly make out a few silhouettes—two? Three?
With the way they stood against the source of the light, it was hard to make out much in the way of details—the glint of a watch here, the glare on a polished dress shoe there. They men were on the taller side, that much she could tell from the shadows alone. Then there was their clothing —which seemed intentional from what she could tell— suits and leather jackets, all in complementary shades of obsidian.
Squinting to see better, she almost gasped when she realized there was a fourth as well—a balding man swaying as he fell to his knees in front of them. Scooting just a bit closer so she could actually try to figure out what the hell was going on, she was just about to inch close enough to make out some of the details of their faces when she was startled by a sound.
A voice.
Muffled, desperate. “Please, please—Look, you’ve made your point, okay? I—I got a lady at home, a- a kid too! You wouldn’t do this to them, would ya?”
Another thwack resounded as one of the shadows swung and landed a punch, nearly knocking the pleading man’s face clean off his shoulders. He seemed a bit older, maybe in his forties or early fifties. This time, when the man spoke, however, his voice was a lot more nasally, thick globs of blood dripping from his nostrils.
“It wasn’t my fault, okay?” he cried out, voice ragged with desperation. “You can’t blame me, I’m not the only one who—”
And then—a gunshot.
It cracked through the night like a lightning strike, so loud her ears rang, the vibrations rattling through her chest. She froze where she stood, her breath caught in her throat like a piece of debris. There was barely enough time for her subconscious to register what had just happened when—
Another shot. And another. Each one punctuated by a harrowing crack, the man’s body jerking violently before slumping onto the wet ground with a single thud.
Instantly, her hand came to her face, clamping over her mouth to stop herself from gasping in shock for fear of releasing even the slightest sound. Everything felt numb, barely registering the ringing in her ears as her knees threatened to give out.
She shouldn’t have looked. She should have turned and walked the other way, but her body had betrayed her, leaving her unable to tear her eyes from the sight in front of her.
For a moment, the most unnatural silence settled over the place. There was no faint honking in the distance, no soft pattering of the light drizzle—or maybe she just couldn’t hear anything. The moment existed in a vacuum of sound, the echoes of the gunshots lingering in the surrounding brick like ghosts.
The man lay sprawled on the pavement, his limbs twisted unnaturally. His chest was torn open with bullet wounds, his mouth parted, interrupted in the midst of a sentence he’d never finish. Blood pooled beneath him, dark and viscous, trailing in tiny rivulets along the uneven ridges of the worn pavement. The smell permeated the air — warm, metallic, and fresh.
Frozen in place, she barely registered the singular shadow standing over the body, a figure dressed in black, breathing slow and measured. The gun in his hand still smoked, a thin wisp curling into the chilly night air. He tilted his head slightly, as if analyzing his handiwork for nonexistent flaws. And then, with practiced efficiency, he tucked the weapon away and stepped back into the darkness, his figure melding into the rest of the shadows as he disappeared into the night.
Her stomach lurched. Her fingers clenched around her bag strap so hard she couldn’t feel her nails digging into her own palm. She couldn’t breathe. She couldn’t move.
Then—her mistake.
A sharp inhale. A quick, horrified gasp.
She flinched back, pressing herself even tighter against the wall as if she could somehow fuse herself to it to avoid being seen.
You’re next. You’re next. They heard you, they'll come back, you’re next, she thought, her heart hammering against her ribcage as a shiver of pure fear raced down her spine. Some voice in the back of her mind screamed at her to run, to get away, to get out!
But her legs refused to cooperate. She was trapped, rooted to the ground by the sickening weight of her own terror.
And then, from the darkness, a voice—calm, smooth, with a hint of concern.
“Are you okay?”
She jerked at the sound, her head snapping toward the man emerging from her other side. Her gaze instantly flitted to his hands, her mind already conjuring the image of the barrel of a gun staring her dead on.
But the stranger’s hands were empty, his posture loose, though there was something in his stance—something deliberate.
Her lips parted, but no words came out.
“I heard gunshots,” he panted, his expression just the right amount of tense.
At least she wasn't alone.
“What happened?” C’mon, let’s get this over with.
She blinked at him, her brain sluggish, lost in shock. He looked like any other pedestrian—tall, reasonably dressed, the collar of his coat pulled up against the cold. His dark curls were slightly tousled, like he had just been running his hands through them, just walking by when the violence must have erupted. Like he had nothing to do with it.
“I-I don’t…” She swallowed thickly, trying to force the words out. “I just—I didn’t see—”
Perfect.
His sharp eyes flicked over her, assessing, searching. A single drop of blood had splattered onto the toe of his boot, but he shifted his weight slightly, hiding it from view.
“Holy shit. Was... Was anyone hurt?” he asked gently, as if speaking to a frightened animal.
She nodded shakily.
“Did you see who did it?”
She hesitated. He held her gaze, expression the pinnacle of concern.
Another nod.
His lips curled at the corners—not quite a smile, but something close to satisfaction.
“Alright,” he murmured. “Come on. You shouldn’t be out here alone.”
He stepped closer, and she flinched instinctively.
He laughed lightly, soft and reassuring. “Relax. I’m not gonna hurt you.”
A lie. A perfect, seamless lie.
Because the sloppy idiots he worked with had left a potential witness behind. And now, she was his problem to deal with.

PLEASSEEE RIDDLE X FEM (YUU) READER WHERE DUE TO A VERY HARD RAIN AND STORM RIDDLE HAS TO STAY AT RAMSHACKLE FOR THE NIGHT W/ THE PREFECT.... MAYBE SHARING A BED.... MAYBE CUDDLING...... THE THING IS THAT THE STORM WAS CAUSED BY MALLEUS BC HE'S JEALOUS THAT HIS BEST FRIEND IS SPENDING TIME W/ SOMEONE ELSE..???? IF THAT'S POSSIBLE OFC????
Riddle x Reader
Where he sleeps over at Ramshackle due to a huge storm outside, caused by Malleus' jealousy of you spending time with Riddle
It didn't turn out as well as I expected :( maybe ooc? it was too long, but I hope you like it at least I tried 😭😭
WARNINGS: not-established implicit relationship between reader and riddle?, like they-treat-each-other-like-couple-without-being-so, perhaps a bit toxic malleus, perhaps also ooc, I wish I could write this from scratch
The rain pounded against Ramshackle's windows. The wind howled through the cracks of the manor, each lightning flash illuminating the interior, casting long shadows on the walls. The storm was relentless, almost as if summoned on purpose.
"This is ridiculous," Riddle muttered, his arms crossed as he frowned at the front door.
Barely able to control the trembling of your hands from the cold, you hugged yourself and sighed.
"There's no way you can return to Hearstlabyul in this condition. The storm is worse than ever. It would be best if you stayed here until it passes," you suggested, trying to keep your voice calm.
Riddle clicked his tongue but nodded reluctantly. He knew he had no other choice. His uniform was soaked, and his already naturally flushed cheeks when he was around you seemed even more flushed from the cold and the annoyance.
"Very well. But I want to make it clear that this is merely an exceptional situation," he said, settling stiffly onto the rickety sofa.
The way Riddle hugged himself made you feel a pang of guilt. The sofa was old, and he didn't have a blanket he could cover himself with. You sighed and approached cautiously.
"Riddle… you can sleep in my room if you want. It's not much, but it's better than here."
The Heartslabyul housewarden's grayish blue eyes widened in surprise. It was clear the idea of sharing such an intimate space unnerved him, but the crash of nearby thunder made him tense.
"If you really don't mind…" he finally said.
You signaled for him to follow you, leading him to your room. Once inside, the atmosphere didn't improve much. The rain was still pounding against the roof, but at least there was a warm bed here.
"I'll get an extra blanket, so I can sleep on the floor. You in bed, and there's nothing else to talk about." you said as you rummaged through your things. The moment RIddle went to unleash a torrent of angry words about why he would never let you sleep on the floor, a flash lit up the room, followed by a crash of thunder that shook everything.
Instinctively, you grabbed onto the first thing you found. It was only when you felt the soaked fabric and the trembling of a body against yours that you realized you'd clung to Riddle.
"Sorry...," you whispered, pulling away immediately.
His expression was one of surpriset. He took a deep breath, trying to compose himself, but you noticed his hands were trembling. It wasn't from fear of the storm. No.
"If… if necessary, we could share the bed," he murmured softly, shifting his gaze to the side.
Your heart leaped.
"Are you sure?"
Riddle nodded quickly, but the tension in his shoulders betrayed him. So, carefully, you lay down first, leaving room for him to do the same. Riddle slid in next to you stiffly, keeping his back straight and his hands on his own chest like a statue. For a few minutes, the silence was absolute, broken only by the storm outside.
"This is… strange," he finally whispered.
"I know," you admitted with a small laugh.
Then, another crack of thunder shook the room, and without thinking, Riddle turned to you, clutching your arm lightly. His face was too close, and his blue eyes shone with a mixture of embarrassment.
"Don't tell anyone," he whispered, burying his face in your shoulder feeling how the touch of his lips against your skin relaxed him.
"It's fine," you replied softly, feeling the warmth of his body dissipate the chill of the storm.
And as you both fell asleep in each other's warm company, Malleus found himself with his hand almost unconsciously scratching a gargoyle from the compressed anger he felt.
He felt the storm he unleashed in his frustration spread throughout the academy. He hoped his best friend, his companion of so many nights of conversations under the starlight, would take refuge in Diasomnia. But no. You had spent the night with Riddle Rosehearts.
Malleus narrowed his eyes, feeling a troublesome lump in his chest.
"Malleus! Is everything all right?" Lilia asked in his characteristically carefree tone, curiosity shone in his eyes. "Last night's storm was… peculiar."
The Prince of Briar Valley didn't respond immediately. His mind kept returning to the image of you and Riddle together in the old mansion, worst, in the old bed. His expression hardened.
"He didn't have to be there," he finally murmured, his voice imbued with a stillness that chilled the air around them.
Lilia raised an eyebrow, noticing the dangerous glint in his pupil's eyes.
"Oh, I see. You mean young Rosehearts?"
Malleus didn't reply, but his silence spoke volumes. Lilia sighed and crossed his arms with an amused smile.
"Malleus, my boy, it's only natural that she has other friends. You can't expect her to spend every moment by your side."
Malleus's gaze darkened.
"Can't I? However, I don't think she needs any company other than mine. In fact, I can say there's nothing RIddle can provide her that I can't." he whispered.
Lilia gave a low laugh, but his expression turned serious.
"If you keep up that attitude, you'll only drive her away, Malleus. You can't control who she spends her time with."
Malleus closed his eyes for a moment. He knew Lilia was right. But the burning in his chest, the nagging feeling that someone else was taking his place, wouldn't go away.
"She's my best friend," he whispered. "And yet, she was with him last night."
Lilia sighed. He knew Malleus wasn't good at handling these emotions. But if he wanted to maintain that bond with you, he'd have to learn.
"Then instead of a storm, go and talk to her,"
Malleus didn't reply. He wouldn't let anyone take him away from his best friend.
In Ramshackle, after last night's storm, and the scent of wet earth wafted gently through the open window,
You blinked slowly, waking to a feeling of warmth enveloping you. Your breathing matched someone else's, and when you turned you head slightly, you found yourself staring into the serene face of Riddle, still deep in sleep. His messy red hair fell over his forehead, and his usually serious expression now looked relaxed.
Your cheeks tinged with a faint blush as you realized the position you were in. At some point during the night, you must have moved, and Riddle had ended up with an arm resting on your waist, holding you as if, even asleep, he didn't want to let go.
An erratic heartbeat pounded in your chest, and you gulped.
"Riddle…" you whispered, trying to gently wake him.
The red-haired frowned and mumbled something unintelligible before he opened his eyes heavily. His grayish gaze focused on you, and for a moment, it seemed his mind hadn't processed his situation. But as soon as he did, his eyes opened fully and a deep blush covered his face.
He let out a sound of surprise, and he quickly pulled away, sitting stiffly with his hand over his mouth.
You laughed nervously, settling into bed as well.
"Good morning, Riddle... I'm sorry for-"
Riddle looked away, his face still red.
"No, no… you don't have to apologize. It's just… I don't usually wake up like this."
The atmosphere around you fell silent, and because of the slight joy that ran through your chest, you began to laugh out loud, unable to stop the blush from rising to your cheeks as well.
He smiled seeing you, but before he could say something, a knock sounded on the door. You both turned. You felt an almost suffocating energy filled the air. You know kinda well who was it.
With a bad feeling, you got up and went to open the door. As you expected, Malleus stood there, looming and frowning. His green eyes scanned you, as if confirming something.
"You spent the night with Riddle Rosehearts." It wasn't a question.
You felt a pang of guilt. You had missed your casual nightly get-togethers to chat and stargaze.
"Yes. I couldn't let him return to Heartslabyul in that storm…"
Malleus narrowed his eyes.
"Funny. Couldn't you have brought him to Diasomnia instead? I spent the night waiting for our casual stargazing meetings. And you didn't come."
Before you could answer, Riddle appeared at your side, his expression now completely serious.
"With all due respect, Draconia, she is free to decide who she spends her time with. She doesn't have to justify her actions to you."
Malleus's eyes flashed with a dangerous glint.
"Interesting that you should be the one to say that, Riddle. Tell me… when did you start considering yourself so close to her?"
Riddle didn't back down from the fae's pressure. On the contrary, he stood taller.
"For a long time. And I don't see what the problem could be."
The atmosphere grew heavier, charged with electricity. You felt a chill run down youe spine; it seemed that at any moment the two of them could start a dispute.
You took a deep breath and stepped forward, placing a hand on Malleus's arm.
"Malleus, please. I don't want this to turn into an argument."
He clenched his jaw and looked away, but the resentment in his eyes didn't fade.
"If that's what you wish…" His voice was lower, but the bitter tone was unmistakable.
He glanced at Riddle one last time before turning not without first giving Riddle one last threatening look with his emerald green gaze.
When his presence finally dissipated, Riddle let out a low sigh.
"He seems quite jealous. I never would have imagined such a… human side of him"
You nodded wearily, feeling a slight pressure in her chest.
"Malleus is very important to me. I don't want him to feel displaced."
Riddle regarded his seriously before gently taking your hand.
"Then you just need to be clear about what you wish. What matters is not what Malleus wants, nor what I want. It's what you wish."
A somewhat arrogant air that was normal for RIddle returned to him as he slowly stroked your hand, still watching Malleus's departing figure.
"And it seems that today, at least, you've chosen me over him."
"Don't be so arrogant, Riddle. It doesn't suit you at all. Especially when you heard thunder and were clinging to me like a baby."
Riddle mumbled something that fell between his lips as he let go of your hand, his cheeks red again, his brow furrowed, and he turned his back on you, turning to leave Ramshackle.
"I have to get back to Hearstlabyul before the idiot first-years wake up and get up to some of their mischief again, and I'm not there to keep them in check."
You leaned against the doorframe of the old dorm with a raised eyebrow, watching him decide to leave with his cheeks flushed, but not before adding,
"You know you can sleep with me as many times as you want from today on, right?"
Riddle turned his head with a raised eyebrow before murmuring in a low, somewhat daring tone, not typical of him, but one that you definitely liked.
"Don't doubt I'll use this privilege more often. Even if it means Malleus striking Ramshackle down with lightning. In fact, maybe I should start coming here more often. To make sure Malleus doesn't come back to you with his toxic attitudes… you know."
You snorted as you said a vague goodbye to him, closing the door behind you.
It seemed like it wouldn't be the last time you'd have your favorite housewarden clinging to you under your covers.

Secret of Shadows
(John Constantine’s son x Batfam)
-part1... -part2...

It was a stormy night in Gotham, the rain pounding furiously on the sidewalks, and the wind howling like hungry wolves. In a slum, Red Robin was chasing one of the Penguin's drug dealers, who was trying to escape across the rooftops. Tim was closing in, planning to bring him down with one blow...
But suddenly, a small green and red shadow leaped in front of him with a sword drawn.
Robin stood in Tim's way with a smug grin. "This criminal is mine. Find another."
"Get out of my way, Robin! This is no time for play!" Tim growled, trying to swerve around him, but Damian leaped back to block his path.
"I told you, that's my goal!"
"You're a spoiled brawler!"
"And you're a boring replacement!"
The argument escalated into a fistfight on the rooftop, while the drug dealer took advantage and fled. But he didn't just flee... he pulled out a remote detonator.
"A bomb..." Tim whispered in astonishment after seeing what the criminal was carrying.
Before the building exploded, a massive black shadow swooped down from the sky like lightning. Batman. He grabbed the dealer with one hand and destroyed the detonator with the other at the last moment.
But the rage in Batman's eyes was more terrifying than any bomb as he looked at Red Robin and Robin.
After Batman made sure the civilians were safe, he turned to Tim and Damian, his eyes burning with rage beneath his mask.
"What is this nonsense?!" Batman roared, his voice like thunder.
Damian stood silent, but Tim tried to explain. "I was about to catch the criminal, but Damian—"
"Enough!" Batman cut him off. "Tim, you're the elder. You should have acted responsibly, not gotten involved in a childish squabble!"
Tim felt like he'd been stabbed. "But he started—"
"It doesn't matter who started it!" Batman said harshly. "I expected better from you. I'm disappointed."
Those words were like a knife to Tim's heart.
Tim returned to the apartment he shared with Y/N, his face as dark as the night that followed. Tim completely ignored the stream of jokes Y/N cracked upon seeing him:
"Wow! Your face looks like my father when i burned his cigarette! Want me to read you a bedtime story?"
Tim didn't reply. He walked into the bathroom and slammed the door shut.
Y/N stood in front the bathroom door waiting, and after five minutes of silence, decided to knock. "I'm going in, so you'd better at least put your pants on."
Before Tim could reply, Y/N opened the door. He found him hunched over the sink, water running down his head as if he were trying to drown himself.
Y/N looked at him for a moment, then said quietly, "There are quicker ways to commit suicide than drowning in a sink."
Tim lifted his head, his eyes red, but he didn't cry... yet.
"I'm sure you'll get my father's wrinkles if you keep pouting like that." Y/N said sarcastically, stepping closer to Tim.
And Tim? He finally exploded.
"Shut up!" he yelled, pushing Y/N away. "Everything is going wrong! I became Robin after Jason died just to help Bruce, and no one thanks me! All the blame is on me, not Damian's! I'm doing everything I can, but no one notices!"
Tim didn't realize he'd started crying until he felt Y/N's arms wrap tightly around him.
"It's okay... Scream all you want," Y/N said, knowing what he was doing. He wanted Tim to explode, to let out all the pent-up emotions inside him. He held him tight, letting him scream, cry, everything.
He didn't care that his shirt was soaking wet from Tim's tears.
After Tim calmed down, Y/N took him for a sandwich in the middle of the night, then put him back in bed. He stayed by his side, holding him until he fell asleep.
But Y/N didn't sleep. He want to revenge.
He concocted a small spell. "Now, they'll see what Tim feels."
First, Bruce had disturbing dreams of Thomas and Martha being shot again and again, while his sons (Dick, Jason, Damian, even Tim) were killed one by one
in front of him.
Then, Damian watched Alfred fall dead while he was powerless to save him, handcuffed.
And Jason relived that night in the warehouse with the Joker, the laughter suddenly fading into a deathly silence.
Finally, Dick watched his parents fall again and again, but this time, he was the one pushing them.
Each of them woke up early in the morning, drenched in a cold sweat, their hearts pounding with terror.
And vice versa for Y/N.
The sun gently peeked through the window curtains, illuminating the room with a warm, golden light. The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air as Y/N sat on the kitchen chair, watching Tim struggle to open his sleepy eyes after a restless night.
Y/N smiled broadly, "Good morning, Mr. Drake! Did you know your face looks like mashed potatoes when you wake up?"
Tim yawned, trying to ignore him. "Shut up..."
Y/N laughed and pushed a cup of coffee towards him. "Don't worry, I added enough sugar to kill a horse, just like you like it."
Tim took the cup and took a sip, then grimaced. "This... is so sweet my teeth hurt."
Y/N pretended to be shocked. "And this is appreciation after everything I've done for you?!" He put his hand over his head dramatically. "But I can't imagine if I hadn't met you, my dear friend... I'd be living in a trash can among naughty cats!"
Tim raises an eyebrow. “A trash can? Really?”
Y/N nods solemnly. “Yeah! Or maybe in my father’ crappy old apartment that hasn’t seen the light of day in a thousand years! Which, by the way, is worse than a trash can. At least the cats like me!” He pretends to wipe away the tears that haven’t fallen. “I would have been a hideous zombie, like a battered doll from a cheap horror movie!”
Tim can’t hold back his laughter. “You’re a freak.”
Y/N grabs Tim’s hand exaggeratedly. “But thanks to you, I’m here now! Drinking poison coffee, living with my potato-like ex-Robin!” He winks. “So… thank you.”
Tim’s cheeks turn slightly pink as he finishes his coffee. “You… aren’t worth the effort.”
Y/N grabs a pillow and throws it at him. “Of course not! But you love me anyway!”
Tim grabs the pillow and throws it back, finally smiling. "Maybe."
After a moment of silence, Y/N speaks in a gentler voice, "Seriously, Tim... I'm glad you're here. Not just because you saved me from the trash can." He laughs, "But because... you made me feel like I wasn't alone."
Tim looks at him, then looks away, smiling, "You're an idiot."
Y/N grabs a piece of toast and pops it full into his mouth, then speaks as he grins, "And that's why you love me!"
Tim ignores him, but his laughter gives him away: "Disgusting."
Y/N smiles and then hugs Tim tightly. "Let's watch TV."
That afternoon, while Tim is watching the TV Y/N suggested, which is so bad, he doesn't know how Y/N can laugh at this movie, but Tim can't help but laugh with Y/N, and then the doorbell rings. Y/N didn't move from his seat. After all, this was Tim's house, and hardly anyone knew about Y/N living with Tim except for his family. So Tim got up to look at the screen to see behind the door. He found his entire family standing in front of it... and... why was Jason holding a gun and looking angry?
Tim immediately opened the door and saw their pale faces, their eyes filled with nightmares.
It didn't take more than two seconds for Tim to conclude that Y/N had done something... after all, it wasn't the first time Y/N had done something stupid for Tim.
"What...did you do?" Tim looked at the naughty Y/N who was pretending to watch TV.
But Bruce couldn't stand the pretense. He stormed into the room and pulled Y/N up by the shirt.
"You! What did you do to us tonight?!"
"What? What are you talking about?" Y/N said with fake innocence.
"Enough with the lies!" Bruce growled. A voice was heard from behind Bruce, Jason, who was about to blow Y/N's head off. "We've all had nightmares... and I'm pretty sure it was you!"
"Maybe it's your conscience?" Y/N sneered as he looked at Jason's gun. Dick was barely holding Jason back from shooting, and needless to say, Damian was ready to stab him if his father wasn't right there in front of him.
At that moment, Bruce decided he needed outside reinforcements. So he literally dragged Y/N from Tim's house to his limo, took him to the Batcave, and immediately called John Constantine. It took him more than three attempts to answer, which made Y/N laugh.
"Bloody Hell, Batman. This is early even for hell." Constantine replied, his hair disheveled like someone who had just woken up.
"Your son is here in Gotham," Batman said, his impatience harsh.
"Huh? Which one?"
At that moment, Bruce appeared to Y/N, still holding him by the collar. "Hello, dear old father, my favorite person."
Constantine stared at Y/N for a few seconds before looking up in shock. "What?! What are you doing there, you little bastard?!"
"I want him back where he came from. Tell me how to get rid of him." Batman ordered angrily.
John looked at his son in disbelief. "If I knew, I'd get rid of him myself! He steals my money, burns my coat, and disappears whenever I need him!"
"The coat was old! Be thankful!" Y/N grimaced at his father.
"Give me back the five dollars first, you thief!"
As everyone looked at this messed-up family, Tim started laughing... he couldn't contain himself.
"I think there's a worse family than us," Dick said, while Jason burst out laughing like a maniac, at Y/N and J'onn's fight.
And Batman? He felt that Gotham was in more danger than ever.

The Dark Side of the Moon 🌑
Every Moon sign has a shadow. It’s the part of yourself you wish wasn’t there, but it always comes out when emotions get the better of you. Let’s explore the toxic trait each Moon sign struggles with but rarely wants to admit.
Aries Moon
You’re the emotional firecracker of the zodiac. When something sets you off, everyone within a 10-mile radius will feel it. Aries Moons can’t help but react in the moment—they’ll yell, slam doors, and walk out before calming down five minutes later. But here’s the problem: while you’re quick to move on, others aren’t. People can feel blindsided by your emotional outbursts, and sometimes, they never quite recover. You mean well, but your “act now, think later” tendencies can leave behind emotional wreckage you didn’t intend to cause.
Taurus Moon
Comfort is everything to you—sometimes to your detriment. You’ll cling to toxic relationships, bad habits, or outdated routines just because they feel familiar. Taurus Moons fear instability, so you stay in situations that no longer serve you, convincing yourself it’s “better than nothing.” But deep down, you know you’re playing it safe. This stubborn loyalty might seem admirable on the surface, but it often holds you back from real growth. Your challenge? Learning to let go when something (or someone) stops nourishing your soul.
Gemini Moon
You process emotions at lightning speed—too fast, sometimes. Gemini Moons are masters of compartmentalization, stuffing feelings into neatly labeled boxes and pretending they don’t exist. You distract yourself with endless conversations, new hobbies, or scrolling through memes, but the truth is, those unprocessed emotions are still there, waiting to ambush you. People think you’re carefree, but you often feel emotionally scattered, unsure of what’s real and what’s just noise. Your gift is your adaptability, but your challenge is learning to sit with your feelings instead of running from them.
Cancer Moon
You’re the emotional nurturer of the zodiac, but your depth comes with claws. When you feel betrayed, your go-to move is the silent treatment or passive-aggressive remarks that cut deep. Cancer Moons don’t forget hurt easily—you replay it, nurse it, and sometimes use it as armor to protect yourself from future pain. But this emotional self-defense can isolate you, leaving others feeling like they can’t reach you. Your strength is your emotional intuition, but your shadow lies in learning to forgive, both yourself and others.
Leo Moon
You thrive on love and recognition—it’s what fuels your soul. But when that attention isn’t there, the shadow side of your pride emerges. Leo Moons can get defensive, dramatic, or overly self-focused when they feel ignored or underappreciated. You’ll never admit how deeply rejection stings, so you cover it up with bravado or an “I don’t care” act that fools no one. Beneath the surface, you just want to feel valued. Your challenge is finding that validation within yourself instead of always seeking it from others.
Virgo Moon
Your inner critic is relentless. Virgo Moons analyze every interaction, dissecting what went wrong and how you could’ve been “better.” This self-imposed pressure creates an emotional loop where nothing feels good enough—not your relationships, your work, or even yourself. People think you’re put together because you rarely show your vulnerability, but inside, you’re constantly questioning your worth. Your superpower is your ability to problem-solve, but your shadow lies in learning to embrace imperfection—both in yourself and others.
Libra Moon
You’ll do anything to keep the peace—even if it means lying to yourself. Libra Moons crave harmony, and you’ll bend over backward to avoid conflict, often ignoring your own needs in the process. But this constant people-pleasing builds resentment, and when you finally reach your limit, you explode in a way no one expects. It’s hard for you to admit when you’re angry because you hate feeling “selfish,” but putting yourself first isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. Your journey is about learning to balance your own needs with others’.
Scorpio Moon
Your emotions run as deep as the ocean, and you feel everything with an intensity most people can’t handle. Scorpio Moons are masters of emotional control, but when that control slips? Chaos ensues. Jealousy, suspicion, and revenge are your go-to defenses when you feel threatened. You hold people to impossibly high standards of loyalty, but sometimes, your walls are the very thing blocking intimacy. Your strength is your resilience, but your shadow is learning to trust—both yourself and the people who truly care for you.
Sagittarius Moon
Freedom is your drug, and anything that feels like emotional “weight” makes you bolt. Sagittarius Moons have a hard time sticking around when things get too heavy or complicated—they’d rather crack a joke and change the subject than deal with the hard stuff. But deep down, this avoidance keeps you from truly connecting with others. People admire your optimism, but sometimes it feels like you’re emotionally unavailable. Your challenge is learning that freedom doesn’t mean running—it’s about facing life head-on and growing from it.
Capricorn Moon
Your emotional walls are skyscraper high. Capricorn Moons hate feeling vulnerable, so you bury your emotions under work, responsibilities, and a “nothing can break me” attitude. People see you as strong, but they don’t realize how heavy it is to carry the world on your shoulders. You fear being judged for showing weakness, but in doing so, you miss out on the support and love you desperately crave. Your strength is your resilience, but your shadow lies in letting people in.
Aquarius Moon
You process emotions intellectually rather than emotionally, which makes you seem detached. Aquarius Moons care deeply about humanity as a whole but often struggle to connect on a personal level. People might feel like you’re “there but not there,” leaving them confused about where they stand with you. Your challenge is learning that vulnerability isn’t weakness—it’s the bridge to real connection.
Pisces Moon
You feel everything—your emotions, other people’s emotions, the entire world’s emotions. Pisces Moons are incredibly compassionate but often lack boundaries, letting others drain their energy. When life gets overwhelming, your first instinct is to escape, whether through daydreams, distractions, or avoidance. Your gift is your empathy, but your shadow is learning to protect your energy without shutting yourself off from the world.
What’s your Moon sign, and does this hit home? Drop your thoughts below.

SEGA Mandates explained with their exceptions (Old)
Edit: (Plan on remaking this with a better format and sources, along with ones I missed)
Edit 2: Here's the New One
Game characters cannot have family members unless they were established in the game canon (Because Archie went overboard).
Game characters cannot be killed off.
Sonic cannot cry or get too emotional.
Exception: Sonic Prime didn't follow this rule despite being canon.
The terms Mobius and Mobians are banned, during the early 2010s, Earth was called "Sonic's World" because they wanted to appeal to 90s Boomers who hate Sonic living on Earth without calling it Mobius, it died down later though.
Exception: Ian Flynn has stated SEGA recanonized Sonic Spinball, which takes place in Mobius, so it exists somewhere in game canon, Veg-O-Fortress even has a cameo in Sonic Origins, Ian also stated Spinball takes place in between Sonic 3 and Knuckles and Sonic 3D Blast.
The heroes must always win at the end.
Characters and elements from Non Canon media cannot be used, Cosmo and the Metarex were potentially allowed to appear but according Ian Flynn, they're off the table now, the Metal Virus serves as a replacement for Robotization, Eggperial City serves as a replacement for Robotropolis, Restoration serves as a replacment for the Freedom Fighters.
Exceptions:
Sonic liking Chili Dogs (90s Cartoons)
Eggman's "I hate that Hedgehog!" and "Snooping as usual" lines (Aosth)
Scratch and Grounder appear in Eggman's livestream in one of the covers for IDW 40
Sonic's "Let's do it, to it" line (Satam)
Sonic being referred to as the "Fastest thing alive" (Satam)
Sonic Spinball being canon again, somwhat canonizes Sally, Bunnie, Rotor, Muttski and Scratch, Ian Flynn has clarified they're just cameos for now but could be a backdoor to make them canon if SEGA chooses to (Aosth, Satam, Archie)
In one of the covers for IDW 31, Storm's mugshot mentions he was arrested by the Knothole Village Police (Satam, Archie)
Tails being afraid of lightning (OVA)
Knuckles's cowboy hat (OVA)
Vector's crush on Vanilla (Sonic X)
Cream's favorite show, the NEXT Show (Sonic X)
The Chaotix Office building appears in the Sonic Channel Comics (Sonic X)
Sticks the Badger appears in the Sonic Channel Comics and is mentioned in English Sonic Frontiers (Sonic Boom)
The Eggnet has been canonized in both IDW and the Games (Archie)
The GUN Commander's name, Abraham Tower (Archie)
Bark being mute (Archie)
Bean and Bark working with Fang as a trio, Sonic even calls them the Hooligans (Archie)
Sally and Bunnie cameo in one of the Sonic Forces prequel comics with their Archie designs (Archie)
Shadow's Chaos Spear being shaped like an actual spear that he can throw or use as a melee weapon (Archie)
Badniks from Sonic Mega Drive appear in Classic IDW (Archie)
The term, Super Badnik (Archie)
Male characters that aren't humans, can't wear pants.
Exception: Tails Nine is allowed to wear pants.
Classic Era characters aren't allowed to appear in Modern Era and vice versa, during the 2010s there was the Two Dimensions retcon because of it, however they later removed it, Team Chaotix are also not allowed to appear in Classic because they considered Sonic Heroes to be their first appearance, however Knuckles Chaotix was recanonized in Tailstube, in the same episode, they acknowledge Mighty, Ray and Fang's Gang and teased a Modern Trip, recently, SEGA is considering retiring Classic Sonic after the disappointment of Sonic Superstars.
Exception: a Classic Froggy appears in various Sonic PICT artwork
Only one Metal Sonic is allowed, not multiple (They must really dislike Shard and Metallix)
Exceptions:
Metal Sonic 3.0 from Sonic Rivals 2
Chaos Sonic and Grim Sonic from Sonic Prime were allowed
Shadow: He has the most guidelines out of any character, most of them come from SEGA wanting Shadow to remain an Anti-Hero and not be too heroic, however SEGA has easied up on these with Shadow Generations
Knuckles: Knuckles is the only Echidna and only resident of Angel Island besides Chao and Baby Animals, (Ken Penders lol), Knuckles is also not allowed leave Angel Island without a reason now, prolly due to critiques with games like Heroes
Silver: Silver's Future is off limits, only SEGA can explore that, if they ever choose to
Super Forms: Male hedgehogs are the only ones allowed to go Super, this has been changed with Sonic Superstars and Otherworld Comedy.
Humans: Due to complaints from 90s Boomers, Humans besides Eggman weren't allowed until Shadow Generations
Romance: Characters can have crushes but they can't date or get married.
Money: Only Team Chaotix can talk about money
Rings: Ian Flynn was told Rings were no longer canon, however Rings appear in Sonic Prime and cutscenes in The Final Horizon, which Ian didn't know about
Special Stages: No longer canon and Fang's bio of living in the Special Stages is retconned
Off Limits Characters: These characters can only be used by SEGA/Sonic Team only:
Eggman Nega
Black Doom
Solaris (Mephiles and Iblis)
Infinite

“do you have any idea what you do to me?”
oliver’s voice is a hushed whisper caught somewhere between his lips and your hair and the pillowcase.
it’s not meant for your ears.
it’s nearly drowned out by the steady, muted sound of rain thrumming against the roof, of car tires peeling across slick asphalt out on the street below.
it should be lost in this liminal space that hovers between dusk and dawn, not reverberating in your eardrums in tune with the sudden, rapid beating of your heart.
his mouth hovers against bare skin at the nape of your neck, each exhale a warm lick of heat that rustles and stirs your nerve endings with the unconscious ease of fine stalks of wheat swaying in a late summer breeze.
oliver thinks that you’re asleep, and you probably should be.
it’s funny—the way you’re curled up in his bed wearing his shirt, legs tangled beneath the sheets, his large hand nestled against the curve of your hip.
it’s funny, because you didn’t even have sex tonight.
(and you’ve never found yourself stumbling past the threshold of his bedroom for anything but.)
yet here you are now, quietly wide awake hours after accidentally falling asleep on his couch. he’d excused himself to shower shortly after you arrived, tossing a promising grin over his shoulder before peeling off a sweat-soaked jersey and striding down the hallway.
that’s usually how it goes—you meet up with oliver at his place when he’s done practice and once you get off of work. then you kiss a little and fuck a lot and it’s easy and it’s simple. for him, at least.
oliver doesn’t need to know what goes on between your restlessly wavering mind and traitorously sentimental heart, the way warmth and fondness and other heavy things that you’re too scared to name have slipped in between the gaps in your ribcage.
he doesn’t need to know the complicated knots he’s unknowingly tied your heart strings into, that you couldn’t untangle them even if you tried.
you didn’t mean to fall asleep on his couch tonight, but you’ve been pulling too many doubles at work on not nearly enough sleep. and oliver purposely chose not to wake you up—not until a loud bang of thunder did the job for him instead.
and when you sat up with a jolt, eyes widening at the late hour as embarrassed apologies immediately tumbled from your lips—oliver simply glanced up from where he was looking at his phone beside you on the couch, a soft, amused look on his face.
you were going to leave, because why would he waste any more of his night watching you sleep when he could be fucking someone else? that’s what this arrangement is for, after all.
but he’d smoothly grabbed your car keys from your hand, silencing the clinking of metal on metal with a closed fist. “it’s raining too hard.”
“i can drive in the rain,” you’d rolled your eyes, exasperated.
“well i’d feel better if you just slept here,” he’d replied, his expression far too serious for your susceptible heart.
so now you’re in his bed for something that decidedly isn’t sex, blatantly toeing the line of demarcation between what this is and what it’s not.
it’s dangerous to want him like this.
to let yourself hope.
shadows dance on the walls as lightning flashes outside, the shapes indiscernible.
when you finally work up the courage to turn your head to look back at him, oliver’s fast asleep.

SEVERED TIES
Katarina x f!reader
Synopsis: You and Katarina were once lovers, now enemies hunting after one another, but even love from the past can cause hesitation in the final blow.
A/N: Just because Katarina isn’t a girl kisser doesn’t mean I won’t make her one (because yes, I need her to be).
The air was thick with tension, the kind that felt like it could crush you if you dared to breathe too deeply. The abandoned building groaned under its own weight, its decaying walls a reflection of the battlefield that was about to unfold.
Katarina prowled silently through the dim corridor, her twin daggers a natural extension of her hands. The chill in the air prickled against her skin, but it was nothing compared to the storm raging inside her. Somewhere in the shadows, you were waiting. She knew it.
And she hated that she could still feel you like this, even after all these years.
“Still as quiet as ever,” Katarina muttered under her breath, lips twitching into a humorless smile.
You had always been good at hiding, better at slipping away. She remembered the way you used to vanish into the night, leaving her alone in dark alleys or behind enemy lines. But tonight, there would be no escape.
A whisper of movement behind her. Katarina spun, her blade slicing through the air just as you ducked beneath it. Your own dagger flashed in the dim light, aimed for her ribs. She twisted, the blade missing its mark by a hair.
“Ah, hi there, Kat,” you said, your voice low and dangerous.
Katarina’s green eyes narrowed. “You’ve gotten sloppy, Y/N.”
Your smirk was as sharp as the blade in your hand. “Or maybe you’re just getting predictable.”
The sound of movement came from her left, and Katarina turned just in time to block your strike. Steel met steel with a deafening clang, the force of your blow sending a jolt up her arm.
Your eyes locked as you pressed closer, the fury in your gaze almost palpable. “You’ve got nerve showing your face here,” you spat, shoving her back.
Katarina stumbled but recovered quickly, flipping one of her daggers in her hand. “And you’ve got nerve thinking you can take me after all these years .”
The fight exploded into chaos. Blades clashed in a flurry of sparks, each strike more calculated than the last. You moved with a precision that mirrored her own, every feint and lunge like a reflection of battles long past. It was infuriating how well you still knew her, every weakness, every opening.
But Katarina knew you, too.
“You’ve improved,” she admitted, her tone almost mocking as she ducked under your blade.
“Why are you here, Kat?” you demanded, your blade catching the light as you deflected another attack due to your miss.
“Why are you here?” Katarina countered, her voice tight with frustration.
You hesitated, and she saw the flicker of something in your eyes—guilt, perhaps, or maybe sorrow. It was gone as quickly as it appeared, replaced by the steely resolve she had come to expect.
Your blades locked, your faces inches apart. The proximity was suffocating, the weight of your shared history pressing down like a vice.
The hesitation cost you. Katarina moved like lightning, her dagger finding its mark as it sliced across your arm. You hissed in pain, retreating a step as blood seeped through your sleeve.
“I didn’t want to hurt you,” Katarina said, her voice softer now.
You laughed bitterly, shaking your head. “That’s rich, coming from you.”
She pushed you back, breaking the stalemate. “You wouldn’t understand,” she said coldly, though her voice wavered. “It was for the mission.”
Your laugh was bitter, almost deranged. “The mission? Don’t lie to me, Kat. You left because you couldn’t handle the consequences of what we had.”
“Don’t you dare—”
“What we had meant nothing to you, didn’t it?” you shouted, your voice cracking. “You sold me out for glory. For Noxus.”
Katarina flinched as if you had struck her. “You don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Oh, I don’t?” you spat, your grip tightening on your blade. “Then tell me, Katarina. Tell me how it felt to leave me bleeding in the dirt while you walked away without looking back.”
Her heart twisted, memories flooding her mind, memories she had spent years trying to bury. She had walked away, yes, but not because she wanted to. She had been given an impossible choice: you or her family, her duty. And she had chosen wrong.
But she couldn’t say that now. Not here.
“I did what I had to,” Katarina said, her voice colder than the steel in her hands.
“No, you did what you wanted to do.”
You lunged at her, your blade slicing through the air with deadly precision. She dodged narrowly, her mind racing. This wasn’t just a fight, it was an execution.
And you were ready to deliver the final blow.
The moment came when you feinted to her right, spinning behind her and hooking your leg around hers. Katarina hit the ground hard, her dagger slipping from her grasp as you pressed your blade to her neck.
“Give me one reason why I shouldn’t end this,” you said, your voice trembling.
Katarina’s chest heaved, her green eyes locked on yours. “If you were going to kill me, you would’ve done it already.”
You hesitated, the weight of her words settling in the pit of your stomach.
“I trusted you,” you whispered, the blade in your hand shaking. “I loved you.”
Katarina’s lips parted as if to respond, but the words caught in her throat. She couldn’t let this end here.
In a swift, brutal motion, her hand shot to the dagger strapped to her boot. She drove it into your thigh, the blade sinking deep into muscle.
You screamed, the pain blinding as your grip faltered. Katarina seized the opportunity, shoving you off her and rolling back to her feet.
But even them, she wasn’t done.
She lunged at you before you could recover, her body colliding with yours and pinning you to the cold, bloodstained floor. Your weapons clattered out of reach as her weight pressed down on you, her dagger flashing in the dim light.
You struggled, your movements frantic and desperate, but she was faster, stronger. Katarina’s knee pressed into your injured thigh, and you cried out, your strength fading with each passing second.
“Stay down, Y/N,” she growled, her voice low and dangerous. “I don’t want to hurt you further.”
Your vision blurred as she shifted, her dagger slashing across your arm to disarm you further. The pain was unbearable, but you refused to scream again.
“Damn it, Kat,” you gasped, blood pooling beneath you. “Just finish it.”
Katarina hesitated. Her dagger hovered over your throat, her green eyes flickering with something you couldn’t name.
“I can’t,” she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper.
Before you could respond, her fist came down hard, striking the side of your head. The world tilted, and darkness crept in at the edges of your vision.
As you slipped into unconsciousness, you felt the faintest brush of her hand against your cheek, a touch so fleeting you might have imagined it.
Katarina worked quickly, tying your wrists and ankles with lengths of cord she had tucked into her belt. Her hands shook as she tightened the knots, her mind racing.
She looked down at you, at the blood staining your clothes, at the soft rise and fall of your chest.
Memories clawed at her mind: the way you used to look at her with unshakable trust, the nights you had spent whispering secrets and dreams. She had ruined all of that.
But it was better this way. At least, that’s what she told herself.
“I told you I didn’t want to hurt you,” Katarina whispered, though she knew you couldn’t hear her.
With one last look, she turned and disappeared into the shadows, leaving behind the only person who had ever truly known her.
A/N: Wish I made this longer because this woman deserves it, but the next one will be about Leblanc.

❛ 𝐓𝐄𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐑𝐘 𝐅𝐈𝐗 . . . nicholas alexander chavez ❜

₊˚⊹౨ৎ 𝐀'𝗦 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘: based on this and this request. hope you guys enjoy - had so much fun writing this hence why it took so long to post (: also, reading the dialogues in nicholas' voice makes it even hotter... you're welcome 💋
𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚𝗦. drinking & smoking · cheating · sexual tension · abs riding · oral (m+f!receiving) · multiple orgasms · slight slut shaming · lots of praise · forbidden love? · unprotected piv · creampie · daddy kink · squirting 𝗪𝗖. 6000

Nicholas absolutely hated your guts. The way you carried yourself so confidently, as if you could have anything or anyone at the snap of your fingers. He hated your stupid face, and your pretty, long hair that fell on your back gracefully, shining in the dim lightning, making it impossible to look away. He hated that everyone seemed to love you, mesmerised by your beauty, your goofiness, your smile that light up the whole room.
And most of all, he hated the fact that he didn't hate you at all. He was completely and utterly under your spell, just like everyone else — with him, though, it was different. You have had your eye on him ever since the first day on set, pushing his buttons to the limit, making him question not only his relationship, but also his morals.
The way you'd sway your hips as you walked past him; or the way your hands lingered on his arm or chest for a little too long while filming. You'd send him your typical i'm innocent look, your eyes wide and doe-like, your bottom lip stuck between your teeth, small smirk tugging at the corners of your mouth. Your clothes a little too revealing for his own sake — he often found himself staring, and almost as if you could feel it, you'd look over your shoulder and send him that stupid, wide smile.
And there he was, sitting next to his girlfriend, watching you with those dark eyes — and you pretended not to notice, though he knew better than to believe you didn't.
You were leaning against the bar, a drink in your hand as you talked to Cooper — your laugh filled the room as you hit the man's shoulder playfully before stealing a cigarette from between his fingers. Nicholas' greedy eyes roamed over your form as your head fell back — your neck now on full display, the necklaces resting between your boobs glimmering in the dim lightning. A black oversized blazer rested on your shoulders, covering the most of your little dress — although Nicholas caught a glimpse of your shoulder as you moved, the blazer falling down your arm. You were so effortlessly beautiful, and he was so wrong for feeling the way he felt, especially when he sensed a soft nudge on his arm.
"Hello? Earth to Nicholas?", his girlfriend waved a hand in front of his face, but he didn't bother looking at her. His body and soul ached for you, and he was tired of hiding it. Tired of his relationship — relationship that should have ended long ago.
"Hmm? Yeah, I'm alright", he replied, not once looking away from you, his cautious eyes following you like a shadow. Almost as if you could feel him staring, you met his gaze. Nicholas' breath hitched when he caught that familiar spark in your eye, the corner of your mouth turning upwards. You winked at him, holding your glass up in a quiet toast, before you chugged the whole thing. Nicholas noticed Cooper saying something to you, and you laughed, sending him a last, teasing glare, before focusing back on your friend.
Nicholas was so uncomfortable and irritated. He stole a glance at his girlfriend, who was now typing something on her phone, visibly bored. He almost rolled his eyes: Why is she even there?
He hated himself for feeling that way.
"Babe, Georgia's gonna pick me up. I'm getting tired, but you can stay", he heard his girlfriend's voice; relief run down his spine at her words. He nodded, and she mumbled a quiet goodbye before leaning down to kiss him softly. He felt your unrelenting gaze on the side of his face — his cheeks growing warm as his girlfriend pulled away, slightly confused when he didn't return the sweet gesture.
Nicholas was ashamed — he swore he could feel your smirk as you watched the scene, and he hated himself for giving you the satisfaction of having so much control over him. He didn't even notice when his girlfriend left, and before he could think it through, he was already making his way through the crowd to approach you and Cooper.
Your laugh filled his ears as soon as he got closer; half-burnt cigarette in between your lips as you struggled with the vodka bottle, trying not to spill everything on the floor. Cooper stood beside you, not helping — he just laughed and offered you a few words of encouragement, and you sent him a dirty look, yet the smile on your lips betrayed your amusement.
"Need help in there?", Nicholas mused as soon as he got closer, meeting your eyes with a playful smirk. He somehow felt comfortable in your presence, even though it was a little overwhelming — you just had this ability to make everyone enjoy your company.
You groaned something incoherent, and both men laughed, before Nicholas took the cigarette from between your lips, taking a puff. The corner of your mouth turned up, your eyebrow rising in a quiet thank you.
"I was enjoying seeing her struggle", Cooper rolled his eyes, taking the bottle from your hands, opening it with a little to no effort in an instant. Nicholas chuckled, leaning against the bar, his cautious eyes roaming over your figure. You hopped onto the barstool, crossing your legs as you got comfortable — causing your little dress to hike up your thighs, leaving a little to imagination. You tilted your head, focusing your gaze on Nicholas as you took a sip of vodka, offering it to him immediately after.
"Where's your princess, Chavez?", you teased, twirling a strand of your hair around your pointer finger. You smacked your glossy lips together as you watched his jaw clench, the playful smile playing on your lips only adding to his discomfort.
"Home", he retorted quickly, and before you could question any further, he chugged on the vodka, his face twisting in disgust at the strong taste.
Cooper soon left the both of you, noticing the weird tension between you — he disappeared in the crowd, already beginning to talk to some of his friends.
"So...", you started, circling the rim of your glass with your finger, offering Nicholas a sweet smile. "You look really fucking hot".
The man twitched uncontrollably, his lips smacking together in a thin line; his whole body grew hot, but he couldn't help the little rush of excitement that run down his spine.
You weren't lying, though; a beige, button-up shirt clung to his chiselled chest perfectly — paired with light, baggy jeans and white Air Forces. He looked effortlessly beautiful. A silver cross rested on his sternum proudly, glimmering in the dim lightning, catching your attention.
"Too bad your girlfriend doesn't appreciate that", you mumbled, reaching out to run your hand over his collarbone, taking the pendant in between your fingers, smiling to yourself. Nicholas' muscles twitched under your touch, his jaw clenching, the fire in his eyes getting stronger with each passing second.
"My relationship doesn't concern you", he replied coldly, drumming his fingers against the bar, his eyes narrow and dangerous. You chuckled lowly, leaning down on your forearms, your face now inches away from his.
"It doesn't concern me?", you repeated, your smile not fading as you studied his face carefully; Nicholas didn't meet your gaze immediately, instead taking in the surroundings, trying to keep his guard up — and he was failing miserably. "You think about me. Just admit that. You want it just as bad as I do", you tutted, tilting your head, watching as heat rose up to his cheeks. "You think I don't notice? Bet I'm in your mind when you're fucking her".
Nicholas' breath hitched at your remark. He blinked slowly, meeting your eyes with a hint of hesitation. He was angry, watching as the corners of your mouth quirked up, before you took a sip of your drink — your unbothered expression made his blood boil, and if the looks could kill — it would be over for you.
"Shut up. Shut the fuck up", he growled lowly, getting up from his stool, his jaw clenched tight as he looked down at you. "You know nothing about me. And you are wrong. I could never look at you that way".
You weren't offended by his words — if anything, your smile widened, gaze becoming more intense as you pursed your lips in fake offence.
"Ouch. That was rough", you sighed, straightening your legs and pulling your dress down as you stood up as well. "Whatever helps you sleep at night, Nicholas", you grinned, running your fingertips down his arm — the veins popped up on his skin, making you bit your lip in wonder as you imagined the possibilities. He shuddered at the way his name rolled off your tongue, and he clenched his fists — the uncomfortable feeling of the growing bulge in his pants became too much, and he stepped on his right foot, eyes rising up to the ceiling in annoyance.
"Just so you know...", you hummed, stepping on your tiptoes to brush your lips against his ear; Nicholas felt a rush of warmth run down his spine when your hot breath tickled the side of his neck. "I can see how hard you are right now. Practically begging to be inside me", you whispered, biting on his earlobe as you did. "I'm drooling just looking at it. Shit", you lowered your gaze, teasing smile playing on your lips as you traced your pointer finger against his chest, watching as it raised and fell with every breath he took. Nicholas' eyes widened in surprise as he felt you graze the bulge in his pants teasingly — the touch feather-like, barely there. He couldn't take it no more — his hand rose up to grab your wrist tightly, not even looking your way before he started dragging you through the crowd to the big staircase. You knew it was a good idea to hold a party in your house.
By the way Nicholas navigated you through the hallway, urgency in his every step, you immediately knew he wanted it just as bad. He practically dragged you to your room, the music and laughter from the living room now dying down — the only coherent sounds being the clicks of your wedges against the wooden floor.
As soon as you stepped into your room, Nicholas turned the lock, pushing you against the wall next to your bed with force that had your breath hitch.
"You think it's a fucking game, huh?", he chuckled, running his hand through his hair, his expression dark as he approached you. You didn't dare to move; although a small smirk played on your lips, your body responding to his words as you shrugged, pressing your back against the wall tightly. Both of Nicholas' palms rested on the sides of your head, and he leaned down, trapping you in his embrace — his jaw clenching with a barely controlled anger, his head spinning from the weight of his own actions.
"Maybe. But you are the one who's playing along", you teased, playing with the buttons of his shirt, leaning your head back to look at him.
For the first time this evening, he smiled, shaking his head as he pressed his body against yours. The evidence of his arousal pressed against your thigh, and you couldn't help but tut, shaking your head in fake disapproval.
"You're fucked", Nicholas chuckled lowly, running his fingers down your face, playing with a strand of hair that was sprawled on your face. You leaned into his touch — the warmness of his palm against your burning skin made your heart flutter in your chest.
"And I knew you couldn't resist me", you pouted playfully, resting your palms on his chiselled chest. Nicholas rolled his eyes — his cheeks were slightly flushed from the alcohol running in his system, mouth slightly agape as he studied your face. "Took you long enough to make a move on me, though".
"This is wrong", Nicholas whispered, but his hands betrayed him, as they moved down your back, his fingers tracing the curve of your ass slowly, almost carefully. You took a deep breath, leaning into his touch. Your bottom lip got caught between your teeth as you looked up at him, meeting his dark, half-closed eyes. Your lips curved into a small smile as you run your hands down his chest, feeling his muscles clench under your touch. "But it's impossible to resist you".
His lips were now inches from yours, your back practically melting into the wall as his whole body pressed into yours. "You've been teasing me. Makin' it nearly impossible to control myself", Nicholas groaned lowly, and you shuddered at the sound — you felt his hot breath on your cheek as he brushed his lips against the softness of the skin on your jaw. You were speechless, soft whimper leaving your mouth before you could stop yourself. You hated and loved how easily he had you wrapped around his finger; the tables had turned, and there was no coming back. You lost all of your control over him the moment he had you pressed against the wall.
"Not so bold now, aren't we?", he chuckled — the sound vibrating against your skin made yet another pathetic sound leave your mouth. His lips ghosted over your neck, and you bit your lip, hard, making sure no more whimpers escaped you.
"All you do is talk", you breathed out, your voice creaking as Nicholas laughed — although there was no amusement in his tone at all. The sudden swipe of his tongue against your hot skin made your eyes roll back into your head; Nicholas hummed lowly, pressing an open-mouthed kisses on the side of your neck, sucking marks into your skin. And you let him, how could you not? Your long nails dig into his shoulders, breathless hiss escaping your mouth as he pulled you closer, making sure there was no space between you. His lips worked on your skin, marking both your soul and body as his — his hands pressing into your skin in an almost bruising grip.
"Nicholas, please", you pouted and felt him smile against your skin. He didn't stop, though, lips now moving against the column of your throat, his hot breath tickling your sensitive skin.
"You beg so pretty", he mumbled lowly, pulling away just slightly so that he could meet your gaze. His eyes were intense, with a glint of playfulness as he grinned at the sight of your flushed cheeks and lidded eyes. "What do you want, doll?".
You bit back a moan as his hand travelled up your body, tracing incoherent shapes on your skin; his hand just barely grazing over the valley of your breasts, before it travelled up, closing around your throat. His gaze demanding now as he squeezed your neck, watching your every reaction.
Your breath hitched, eyes wide and pleading, the pressure of his hand on your neck making you deliciously lightheaded.
"Y—You. I want you, Nicholas", you managed to let out, your nails digging into his chiselled shoulders as you struggled to breathe. He tutted lowly, wetting his lips before pulling you closer by your neck — the smell of his cologne, along with the warmth of his breath on your lips caused the stain of wetness on your panties become embarrassingly bigger now.
"Just kiss me", you begged, putting your pride aside, your demeanour changing with the desire growing inside you. "Make me yours".
As soon as these words left your mouth, Nicholas was all over you; his lips meeting yours in a bruising kiss, his hand on your neck tightening with the newfound roughness that made your breath hitch. A low sound escaped his throat at the first taste of you as he let his free hand roam down, the pads of his fingers brushing against your spine. There was nothing nice about the way he kissed you; his tongue invading your mouth in an instant, his tongue massaging yours with hunger. Your hands moved to Nicholas' cheeks, pulling him impossibly closer as you struggled to breathe. You tried to press your thighs together — in search of friction that you so desperately needed — but before you could do so, Nicholas' knee landed in between your legs, trapping them in place. You swirled your tongue around his, your brows furrowing when he bounced his leg, causing his thigh to press against your clothed core.
"These little sounds you make", he breathed out, pulling away just slightly to brush his teeth against your lower lip teasingly. "Keep making them".
You whined, your head falling back against the wall, too heavy to keep upright. Nicholas' lips travelled down your jaw, lingering on the side of your neck before brushing against your collarbone; his teeth grazing the straps of your dress, almost as if asking for permission. The shiver that run down your body was enough for Nicholas, though, as he slowly slid the satin material off your shoulders, his fingers soft and delicate on your burning skin.
Your breath hitched as your boobs spilled from your little dress — Nicholas was certainly pleasantly impressed, though, his eyes widening in surprise at the sight of your bare chest.
"Oh my", he sang, meeting your gaze, his bottom lip caught between his teeth. "Wanted to see those tits for months now. They're even more perfect that I've imagined".
You smirked as your dress landed on the floor with a quiet thud, leaving you in only your lacy, black thong and knee-high wedges. Nicholas' greedy eyes roamed over your form, his gaze predatory and dangerous as he slowly stepped away from you.
"Perfect", he whispered, wetting his lips with his tongue, and you smiled, a tiniest bit of blush creeping up on your cheeks under his observing eyes. "You're so beautiful, doll".
Your heart fluttered at the nickname, and with the newfound confidence, you approached him, playing with the buttons of his shirt as he leaned down to kiss you again. He was oh so kind when he offered help with undoing his shirt, his certainly skilled fingers moving with expertise that made your breath hitch. You tugged on the beige fabric, slipping it down his broad shoulders until it fell on the floor. You bit your lip at the sight of his chiselled chest, all for you to feel and touch — Nicholas grinned as he watched your dazed expression.
"You know what I love most about you?", you asked, pushing him against your canopy bed — and he let you, shaking his head as he fell back on your satin, black sheets. "That fucking body. You look like a greek god. Absolute perfection", you gawked, crawling towards him on the bed as he rested his head on the big pillow by the headboard. Nicholas' breath hitched as you straddled his stomach, his cock straining against his pants almost painfully now. Your legs rested on both sides of his body as you leaned down, brushing your lips against his neck.
"Shit. I'm all yours tonight, doll", he cooed, his nails digging into your hips with urgency, his neck stretching to grant you access. You rutted your hips against his abs, teasingly and slowly at first, a high-pitched moan leaving your mouth at the friction. Nicholas' muscles clenched under you, the hardness of his stomach against your clothed pussy making your head spin. Nicholas watched with hooded eyes, his hands tightening on your hips — guiding your movements, urging you to move faster against his toned abs.
"Holy fuck— Ride my abs babe, come on", he groaned, playing with the waistband of your panties before his fingers slipped between your legs to pull them to the side. You could only nod, a rush of excitement running down your spine when the cold air of the room hit your now exposed pussy.
"I can feel you soaking me", Nicholas panted, his hands finding place on your ass as you ground yourself down onto his stomach — soft pant left your mouth at the feeling of the hardness of his muscles against your dripping centre. "Let me hear you, baby".
"Oh my God— Nicholas", you whined, leaning down, your boobs right in front of his face. The man groaned as you started grinding faster, your own cascade of smugness faltering the more you felt his muscles clench under you.
"That's right, baby. You're so hot, using me like that. Being a home wrecking bitch turns you on, huh?", he whispered the last part of the sentence, and encouraged by the strangled moan that left your mouth, lifted his head to circle his tongue around your nipple. The softness of your skin was addicting, as he surrendered himself completely to you, sucking the nub into his lips before biting on it playfully, earning yet another low sound from the depths of your throat.
"Nick, oh my goodness—", you managed to let out, your back arching into his touch, the knot in your lower stomach becoming tighter with every passing second.
"Cum all over me, doll, I know you want to", Nicholas cooed, spanking your asscheek with force — the pain, combined with his words had you unravelling on top of him. You cried out, falling forwards and hiding your face in the crook of his neck as your rhythm faltered, your body becoming limp in his tight grasp.
Your pussy pulsed as a layer of wetness covered Nicholas' chiselled stomach, your inner thighs and the waistband of his pants. You struggled to catch your breath as Nicholas talked you through the aftershocks of your orgasm, his big hands grasping your ass, guiding your slow, shallow movements.
"I love you", he thought he heard you whisper, but he wasn't sure — his whole body clenched, and he slowly lifted you off him, laying you down on the sheets, watching as your chest heaved with uneven breaths.
"Need more", you whined, using all your strength to lift your upper body, your shaky hands moving down to tug at his belt, and he swore he could feel his dick growing even harder at the vulnerability in your tone. He quickly got rid of his pants and boxers, and you audibly gasped at the size of him. He was big, definitely above average, slightly curved with a pretty red tip, leaking with pre cum. Nicholas laughed at your wide eyes and parted lips, as he kneeled on the bed, his length bobbing in the air with the movement. You licked your lips, shimmying off your ruined panties before taking a position right in front of him. You sat down on your calves, moving your hands up his chest, biting your lip at the sight of Nicholas in his full glory. His muscles relaxed under your touch, soft gasp leaving his mouth when you teased his nipples with your fingers. He was so responsive, hips thrusting into the air — and you knew what he had wanted immediately.
You began to press soft kisses on his thighs, arching your back, Nicholas responding with an appreciative groan.
"'S so big, fuck", you teased, one of your hands moving down his stomach to wrap around the base of his cock. Nicholas let out a low hum, his hands raking through your hair, as he pulled them, hard, guiding your mouth to close around his tip.
With a wicked grin, and not once moving your eyes from his face, you slowly swirled your tongue around his cock, humming at the salty taste of his pre-cum invading your senses.
"You're such a little slut", Nicholas breathed out, his head falling back as the warmth of your mouth surrounded him. "Fuck, I knew you'd be good at this— I jerked off so many times, just thinkin' about those pretty, little lips wrapped around me".
You whined at his words — they encouraged you to twist your hand at the base of his cock while you struggled to take him deeper. Nicholas' hips started to move in accord with your hand and mouth, and he hissed at the feeling of your throat convulsing around his thick tip.
"Shit, shit, shit", he groaned, tugging at your hair to force your mouth off his twitching cock. "You're so much better than her. Need to fuck you right now", he forced you to kneel on all fours, his palm pressing into your lower back with urgency that had you breathless. Nicholas run his hands down your back, digging his fingers into your ass to spread you wide for him.
"Such a pretty little pussy. Want me to fuck you?", he cooed, biting his lip when you pushed your ass back against him, mumbling profanities into the pillow. Your hair was all over the place, but Nicholas pulled it into a makeshift ponytail, tugging on it, forcing you to use your words.
"Nick, please— Need it so bad, just use me, pleasepleaseplease", you cried out, and Nicholas smiled cruelly, spanking your left asscheek as he let go of your hair. He leaned down to brush his lips against the plush of your ass, biting on the sensitive skin, manoeuvring between spanking and soothing the red imprints of his hand with his hot tongue.
You were breathless as he worked his magic on your sensitive backside. You cried out his name every now and then, pushing back the best you could, but Nicholas wasn't having it — he was taking his sweet time, his mouth dangerously closer and closer to your puffy, leaking pussy.
"Your ass looks so much better when marked by me", he smiled proudly, even though you couldn't see it, admiring his own work. Your back arched even further when you felt his mouth closing around your clit, his tongue circling around the swollen nub with just enough pressure to leave you whimpering.
"Fuck, Nicholas! Oh my God, you're so good at this". Tears were streaming down your face as he spanked your backside yet again, licking a stripe up your clit to tease your little hole. He hummed into your pussy, one of his hands moving down to stroke his leaking cock. He spelled his own name with his tongue, then making out with your swollen slit until you were shaking and whimpering.
"You taste so good. I could spend hours between your legs", Nicholas groaned, to which you responded with a strangled chuckle, your hips moving in circles against his face — as if you couldn't get enough. "Yeah, grind against my face babe, come on. Wanna see you cum again", Nicholas encouraged, and you tugged on your sheets, hips bucking back to meet the restless movements of his tongue. His own groans vibrated against your core, the rhythmic wet sounds of his hips bucking into his hand filling the room like the most beautiful song.
Your whole body shook as the pressure in your lower stomach became almost unbearable — you were so close, and Nicholas sensed it immediately.
"Daddy, 'm gonna cum so hard— please, can I cum? Been so good f'you", you hiccuped, one of your hands reaching back to tug on his brown locks, earning yet another groan from him.
"Oh wow, we're gonna talk about this later. Go on, pretty, soak these fucking sheets f'me", he chuckled darkly and doubled his efforts, letting go of his cock only to massage both of your asscheeks in his big hands. He sucked your little clit into his mouth, and it was all it took for you to unravel under his touch — your creamy, white cum leaking out of your clenching hole as you screamed his name, your knees giving out, but Nicholas' strong hands kept you upright. He flicked his tongue over your sensitive slit, causing aftershocks to run down your spine.
"Divine", he whispered, pressing soft, lingering kisses on both of your asscheeks before getting up from his kneeling position and turning you on your back.
"So, daddy, huh?", Nicholas smirked, watching your fucked-out expression with a hint of amusement and adoration. He slipped in between your legs, leaning down to press his lips against yours teasingly. You let out a breathy laugh, covering your face with your hands, suddenly ashamed of yourself.
"No no no, don't go shy on me now, little one", he smiled, pushing your hands away and taking them in his own. Nicholas' thumbs brushed over your knuckles, his cock now rubbing against your stomach, and you couldn't help but grin up at him.
"I love it. You're gonna call me daddy from now on, yeah? And you're gonna take everything I give you, understand?", there was both softness and demand in his tone as wrapped his hand around the base of his cock, positioning it at your entrance. He gawked up at you one last time, making sure you were okay with what he was doing — at which you spread your legs wide, granting him the access.
"Use your words, doll", he demanded, slowly pushing his tip into you, before pulling back — he enjoyed the way your brows furrowed and lips parted, dry tears staining your face — an unfamiliar feeling bubbled up in his chest at the sight of you.
"Yes, daddy— Just, please", you wiggled your hips, chasing after the feeling of his cock stretching you out just barely; you needed more. "I need to feel you, Ni—".
Your words died in your throat as he pushed himself into you fully, the wetness coating your velvety walls making it easy for him to slip in. You both moaned in unison, your head dipping back into the pillow as he bottomed out. He was so big, stretching you out to an unbelievable level, your pussy fluttering around him in order to get used to the overwhelming feeling.
"Oh fuck", Nicholas moaned lowly, his palms pressing into your thighs to spread you wider — his hips beginning to piston forward, not waiting for you to get used to the stretch. "You're so fucking tight, baby. Wanna have this pussy all to myself", he mused, watching the way your greedy cunt swallowed all of him every time he bottomed out.
"Shit, daddy, oh my God", you cried out, your nails digging into his chest in order to steady yourself. Nicholas hissed, leaning down to brush his lips against your ear teasingly.
"Yeah, baby, just like that. You're taking me so good, feel how deep I'm inside you?", you tried your best to nod, and Nicholas chuckled, soft pants leaving his mouth every time his hips met the inner part of your thighs. You wrapped your arms around his neck as he fucked you hard and deep, not a single thought beside you in his head as he ruined you. "Shit, I love you. Love you so much, baby", he cried out, and you shuddered, a sudden orgasm ripping through you. A transparent liquid gushed out of your used hole as Nicholas slowed down, watching in awe as you soaked your sheets, his navel and balls. He held back his own orgasm, not wanting the moment to end so quickly as he let go of your legs, pulling one of them to the side, making you arch your back and press your ass against him.
"You just squirted for me, baby. You're so good, such a good girl f'me", he cooed, spanking the side of your ass as you bucked your hips into his own. "Think you can do that again for daddy? Hmm?".
You gripped his forearm, nodding frantically, and he was about to start pounding into you, when the two of you heard the buzzing of his phone.
Your eyes snapped open, wide and glossy, and Nicholas leaned down on the bed to grab his phone — his girlfriend's name and picture popping up on the screen. You let out a shaky breath as Nicholas' hips pressed against yours tightly, his gaze sending you a clear message — do not make a sound.
He answered the call, and you were surprised how normal he sounded, as if he didn't have you bent in half, fucking you in your own bed.
"Yeah, I'm alright. Just went somewhere quiet to talk to you", Nicholas looked down at you with authority, his hand squeezing the fat of your ass as he began to move slowly — in and out. In and out.
You bit back a moan, your head falling against the pillow — you heard his girlfriend's muffled voice on the other side of the line. Nicholas' chest glistened with sweat in the dim lightning as he began to fuck into you nice and deep, his free hand moving up your body to close around your throat. You were panting, your ass grinding against his hips as he stilled, allowing you to chase your pleasure.
You met his gaze as he squeezed your neck — dangerous and demanding, your hand clasping his forearm for balance as he met your grinds with deep strokes; the tip of his cock bruising your cervix every time he bottomed out.
"I miss you too, G/N. I'll probably stay overnight, y-yeah", he stuttered as he felt your pussy clench around him, signalling that you needed more. "I'm gonna call you later, okay? Love you too. Goodnight".
Nicholas ended the call hurriedly, throwing it somewhere on the bed carelessly. His hips began to snap into yours with a newfound harshness, the hand on your throat tightening. He used the other one to balance himself as he leaned down, his body flat against yours, causing his cock to reach even deeper into you.
"Fuck, doll, I'm gonna cum so hard", Nicholas groaned, pressing his lips against yours to swallow your moans. You tasted yourself on his tongue as it invaded your mouth, sensual and sweet — a delicious opposite to the roughness of his thrusts. You put your hands on his cheeks, returning the kiss greedily, your pussy fluttering and convulsing around his cock, your hips moving on their own as you chased your high.
"Daddy, please, fuck!", you cried out, your head falling against the pillow as Nicholas sucked on your bottom lip lewdly. His dick twitched inside you, signalling he was just as close as you were — he met your eyes, letting go of your throat only to trace his fingers down your cheek softly.
"Cum with me, fuck— I'm so close. Please, fuck— cum on my cock, darling", he begged — the sound of his voice, how submissive he suddenly sounded, did it for you.
With a loud moan of his name, you squirted on his cock yet again, your body going limp in his warm embrace. Nicholas lasted only for a few seconds, before burying himself fully into you, his cock twitching as he filled you with his hot cum.
"Shit, it's so much", he hissed, dropping his head, his eyes falling closed as his release washed over him. He pulled out after a while, leaving you empty but satisfied — he watched in awe as his cum leaked out of your convulsing hole, staining the soaked sheets under your ass. Nicholas fell on the bed beside you, wrapping his arms around you, keeping you close as the both of you tried to calm down after the earth-shattering orgasms that have just washed over you. You rested your head on his chest, listening to his irregular heartbeat, throwing your leg over his own.
"You wanna... do it again sometime?", you whispered, running your hand down his sweaty chest, savouring the moment of silence. Nicholas smiled, tracing incoherent shapes on the skin of your thigh, his lips ghosting over your damp forehead.
"Fuck, yeah", he chuckled, and you laughed, the sound vibrating against his chest. The air felt heavy with the unspoken tension, the weight of your actions and confessions lingering in the air, but you were too fucked out to care.
"Stay with me?", you mumbled hesitantly, lifting your head from Nicholas' chest to properly look at him. His eyes were full of vulnerability you haven't quite seen there before as he smiled, kissing the tip of your nose before replying: "Always, darlin'".

Even though he doesn’t like to see you suffer, he’s happy he can take care of you.
❀ Ayato Sakamaki.
“Sparks of a crackling fire, propagating against the rain, brighter than lightning.”

At first glance, Ayato might not seem like the mist detail-oriented guy, but he is pretty perceptive and intelligent despite his silly moments (and he is not given enough credit for it!)
Especially, when it comes to your feelings and little shifts in your mood.
Initially, he tries to lighten the mood with his usual “Oi, you should be happier to be in the presence of Ore-sama, why are you looking so depressed?”
But when all you give him is a meek hum, then you can see a concerned crease between his brows, that cute expression he does where he goes wide eyed and pouts a little.
The redhead wraps his arms around you, leaning his head on your shoulder, a silent invitation to play with his hair, to keep you distracted.
“If something’s happened, you know I, the great Ayato, will protect you.”
❀ Laito Sakamaki.
“The language of wordless lips over heated skin, the unholy touch of deft hands in the dark.”

Laito’s probably the most versed in understanding another’s feelings out of everyone here. A subtle change in the way you move and carry yourself, the small crease in between your brows, or the way your jaw tightens; those speak volumes to him, and he knows right away that something is not right.
He tries to distract you in the way he knows better: sultry words whispered in your ear, in the dim light of his bedroom; his hand sneaking beneath your shirt, lingering dangerously low on your hips; his sensuous lips trailing your neck and shoulder, pointed fangs sinking in your skin, the afterglow of his kisses ardently addictive.
You try to stop him at first, not because you dislike what he’s doing, but rather that you don’t want to burden him.
To bring back the memories.
To make him feel like you’re just using him to relieve your tension.
Of course, he notices that, too.
“You’re nothing like her, bitch-chan.” He whispers in between lovebites. “So for tonight, give into me, okay? Nfu ~”
❀ Subaru Sakamaki.
“The tender brush of white rose petals scattered into the night, their familiar sweet scent fending off eternal shadows.”

When you’re upset or dark thoughts have you overthinking, the first thing that crosses Subaru’s mind is “is this my fault?”
For a moment, he starts fearing for the worst himself, did he upset you in any way? Did his tainted self hurt you? Would you be better off without him?
However, all of those ideas die out as soon as you cling to him, your face buried in his chest, his cheeks blooming in pretty rose.
Subaru hesitates for a moment, but then he holds you, even if a little awkward at first.
Needless to say, he wants to punch anyone and anything that made you feel so anxious, but you need him now, in the same way he’s needed you on endless nights when all he knew was despair.
“I love you.” He whispers softly, crimson eyes closing as he nuzzles into your hair, leaving the softest of kisses there. “I’m here.”
❀ Ruki Mukami.
“The soothing truth of irrefutable words set in stone; the softness of blackened feathers; white crows guiding you home.”

Honestly, Ruki is one of the best people to assuage the intrusive thoughts plaguing your mind. Not because he is the most affectionate or soft, far from it, but because the logic he uses to make you see you’ll be okay is pretty much absolute.
Your own doubts scatter away, washed away by the night reflected in the deep ocean of his eyes. Somehow, he always has the power to make you feel like you’ll be safe as long as you stay by his side.
Of course, Ruki won’t leave you alone either. He’ll pull you into his lap while he reads a book, even read it out loud for you if you ask him.
“You’ll be safe with me, livestock. As long as you have your master to protect you, no harm will come your way.”
❀ Kou Mukami.
“A happy melody with lyrics that accompany your tears; not in tune, but a game of opposites, as if understanding you, setting your sights on blue skies after a downpour.”

Kou is another one who will notice right away if your mood shifts. Not just because of his eye; he doesn’t quite need to use it when it’s you.
Even if he now stands on the brightest stages, he knows pain like no other, and he doesn’t like that look on you.
You are his bluest sky. To see it covered by stormy clouds… It makes him sad. Though because he is a performer, he knows how to distract you from your endless night.
He brings you roses or any little gift he noticed you eyeing another time; similarly to Laito, he’ll resort to physical affection and naughty touches if you’re in the mood.
But you always told him you love his voice, so now, he sings for his favorite audience: you and only you. He’ll teach you to dance like he does if you’re in the mood too, catching you securely in his arms when you trip, teasing you.
“My M-neko-chan is the cutest when they smile… You are my favorite sky, okay? Never forget it.” He tells you, as he kisses the corner of your lips.
❀ Yuma Mukami.
“The familiar scent of a fireplace in the home you’ve so longed for; he is the warmth of the sun on your back and the hues of rustling leaves in late summer.”

“Oi, sow, why do you look so depressed?”
His rough voice is blazing sunshine amidst thick tree canopies.
He’s noticed you staring at nothing and probably thinking about too much as you help him in the garden.
He’s noticed the iron grip you have in the basket of tomatoes, the one now in your hand threatening to be crushed.
He’s noticed the trembling of your form.
He’s noticed you are not acting like yourself right now.
And Yuma can’t stand it. Like the unforgiving freeze of a clouded dawn making flowers wither, he won’t allow for the rose petals you put in his life to never bloom again.
So, as he always does, he lets his actions speak volumes.
Taking the basket from your trembling hands, he gently throws you over his shoulder. Bathed in the last of the sun’s golden glow, he begins the short trek back to the manor.
“I won’t let anything happen to ya, ya hear me? So stop bein’ so sad, I’m here.”
❀ Azusa Mukami.
“He is the softness of clean gauze over your sore hands; a flutter of butterfly wings brushing your cheek as you wake from a sweet dream.”

Azusa is very attentive, so he can tell the little shifts in your mood when fear wraps their cruel claws around you.
At first, he’ll try to distract you, showing you his knife collection and telling you about the story of each one.
That helps a little, gentle smiles tugging at your lips every now and then as you see him excited to tell you about them.
But he knows that is not enough, that you’re still worried; your mind, a tapestry of criss-cross throbbing wounds.
So he’ll patch them up, no matter how long it takes for the turbulent flow of blood to stop.
He’ll hold you from behind, his ever tranquil heartbeat warm and soothing against your back.
“Eve… You deserve to be happy… My Eve is always beautiful… But I like you happy the most…”

american teenagers — intro.
next

helloooooo my loves!!! here’s an intro into my comeback fic, american teenagers! i sat on this idea for a little while during my tiny break and i honestly couldn’t get it out of my head. i was heavily inspired by ethel cain for the vibes of it all, hence the name :)
please bear with me in all this as i do get easily overwhelmed and experience burnout very quickly but you guys are always supportive so i have no doubts!!
i’m not sure when the first chapter will be out, but i’m slowly working on it as i am very excited for you guys to read it! lots of love xx
the summer of 1987 was supposed to feel different. everyone in town kept saying it— teachers, parents, the tired voices on the radio between commercials. they said it like graduating highschool meant anything would actually change. but for the kids in the trailer park on the outskirts of town, it wasn’t much more than another hot season stretched out between long days and longer nights. the same parties by the lake, and the same dreams about escaping that no one really believed in.
the days were always the same for you. early mornings at the gas station counter, and evenings at the diner pouring coffee for truckers passing through. anything to keep you out of your father’s path really. your nights were often spent on the roof of your trailer, a cigarette in one hand and a notebook full of half-finished plans and dreams in the other. for daryl, the boy you had known since he was a scrawny little thing with clothes too big for him, it was merle’s shadow and busted knuckles, endless hours fixing bikes and cars in the sun while dreaming of roads that led anywhere but this small town.
you couldn’t remember a time when daryl dixon wasn’t around. his trailer was only three down from yours. you had been inseparable since the day you caught him standing by the broken fence of the trailer park, segregating the southside of town from the rest of the townspeople. the two of you had seemed like an odd pair to everyone else— daryl’s constant silence and smoldering anger along with your rough edges and restless energy —but somehow, it worked.
the summer after highschool felt like your last chance to figure out if those dreams the two of your had whispered about on those late night drives would ever come true. but the weight of this small town— the trailers, the jobs that paid barely enough to keep the lights on and your fathers off your backs, the scars you didn’t talk about —it all hung heavy between the both of you.
you didn’t really realise it at first, the way your feelings for daryl had shifted. it wasn’t a lightning bolt or this big grand revelation in your head. it was slower than that, like the way the heat crept up during june, making itself known in those hazy afternoons and the sweat dripping down your back. you started to notice those small things— how his voice softened when he talked to you, or the way his shoulders relaxed when the two of you were alone. you couldn’t pin point when it changed, only that it had.
daryl wasn’t any better at handling it either. he’d always thought of you as the one person who saw him for more than what people whispered about the dixons— trailer park trash, troublemakers, destined for nothing. you didn’t flinch at the bruises he didn’t explain, or the scars he wouldn’t talk about. you were his anchor, his light. but now, everytime you smiled at him or touched his arm, it felt like something inside him was breaking apart and putting itself back together all at once.
that summer wasn’t just about the heat, the bad decisions, or the endless nights spent sitting under a starless sky. it was about the weight of knowing you could only hold onto each other for so long before something— or someone —pulled you apart.
neither of you had the words to say it yet, but you both knew: the end of your childhood was here, and whatever seemed to come next would either bring you both closer or tear you apart for good.
if you enjoyed this, please give it a like/reblog! your support always means the world to me 🫶🏻
stay tuned for the first chapter! if you’d like me to add a tag list, comment below!
